What is BSc. Dialysis Technology?

BSc Dialysis technology course is an undergraduate (UG) level degree program to train students to administer haemodialysis treatment methods for patients with renal failure. B.Sc. Dialysis has been designed to provide eligible students a specialization in a broad range of application and technologies involved in the process of dialysis. The course programs main aim is on the treatment of several diseases related to kidney and perform dialysis on patients suffering from kidney failure and require treatment for removing excess waste and fluids from their blood.

While pursuing the course, students are educated and trained on various aspects. The tools used in dialysis treatment are also trained to perform various roles such as equipment repair and maintenance to water treatment monitors, vascular access and checking as well as taking direct care of the patient. The students get a deep knowledge about the basic anatomy and physiology, dialysis analysis, safety secure, prescription and sanitation, critical cares, and professional standards and ethics.

BSc. Dialysis Technology: Duration

Bachelor of Science in Dialysis Technology or B.Sc. Dialysis Technology is an undergraduate (UG) level course program which introduces students to the fundamentals of dialysis technological sciences. It is a 3 years course program which is divided into 6 semesters. Every semester lasts for the period of 6 months. The minimum duration is 3 years and the maximum duration is 6 years for Distance learning.

BSc. Dialysis Technology: Eligibility Criteria

Students those who willing to study this B.Sc. Dialysis Technology course are first required to fulfill all the below mentioned criteria, in order to be eligible to apply for the course.

  • A minimum percentage or equivalent aggregate score should be of 55% marks for general and 50% for SC/ST students, is required at the level of 10+2 examinations, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education i.e (CBSE)  or any other recognized state board. Moreover, the percentage criteria may be different across institutes/colleges.
  • Candidates should have successfully cleared the higher secondary examination (10+2) with science stream, having Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% in the above mentioned subjects.
  • Diploma Holders who have completed diploma after class 10th class examination are also eligible to apply for the course.
  • By the way, the age of the students should not be less than 18 years or more than 23 years.
