Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is the entrance examination for admitting students to some engineering and medical colleges in States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Entrance examination is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University, Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

AP EAMCET APPLICATION FORM
- AP EAMCET 2020 Application form will be made available on the website from the fourth week of February 2020.
- Candidates can register and fill the complete application form by online mode of the website.
- Candidates can refer to the instruction booklet available on the website while filling up the application form online.
- If need be, the candidate can correct the details given in the application formin April 2020.
- The last date to fill and submit the application form (without late fee) is the last week of March 2020 and with late fee, it is April 2020.

AP EAMCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The eligibility criteria for all engineering courses like Engineering, B. Pharmacy (M.P.C), Pharma. D, B.Tech. (Dairy), B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering), B.Tech. [Food Science and Technology (FS & T)], B.Sc. [Agriculture Engineering] are given below:
- Candidates must be of Indian origin.
- They must belong to Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
- The candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as required in the States of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
WHAT IS THE QUALIFYING BASE?
- Candidates must have passed or appeared for 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized Board of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects.
- Candidates who have completed or are appearing for Diploma in Engineering courses can also apply.
- In the case of Pharm-D course, candidates should have passed or appeared for 12th or equivalent class examination from a recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (as optional).
- Pharmacy candidates holding Diploma can apply for Pharm-D course.
- Students of general category must obtain at least 45% marks in the core subjects whilethe reserved category candidates must have at least 40% marks, in the same.
AGE CRITERIA
- In the case of engineering and pharmacy courses, students should have completed 16 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
- No upper age limit for these courses.
- For B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (FS & T), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering) and B.Sc. (CA & BM) courses, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as or on 31st December of the year of admission and 22 years is the maximum age limit for general candidates and 25 years for SC and ST candidates.
- For Pharm-D course, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
The eligibility criteria for B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FS&T), B.Pharma courses are given here:
- The candidates must be Indan Citizens, or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
- Applicants must belong to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana.
- The candidates should meet the Local/Non-Local status requirements as prescribed in the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana States.

- For B.Pharmacy courses, candidates should have cleared or appeared in the final year of intermediate with Biology, Chemistry & Physics subjects.
- For Agriculture Courses, the candidates should have passed or appeared in 12th or equivalent exam with any two / three of the subjects indicated against each course noted below:

AP EAMCET Syllabus
The AP EAMCET Syllabus for 2020 session will be as per the syllabus introduced by BIE, AP for an intermediate level exam.The questionsof the entrance exam will be asked to test the candidate’s knowledge and intelligence, The Syllabus will contain various topics relating to the subjects of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
AP EAMCET 2020 PREPARATORY TIPS
- Prepare a proper schedule for learning.
- Understand the exam pattern, syllabus and marking schemes.
- Prepare brief notes on the subjects.
- Solve the previous years’ question papers within the scheduled time.
- Practise online and offline mock tests to checkthe level of your exam preparation.
- Revise all prepared notes at least two days in advance or before the exam time.
AP EAMCET 2020 EXAM PATTERN
- AP EMCET 2020 exams will be conducted in online CBT(Computer-basedTest) mode.
- The question paper of the exam will have 160 questions in multiple-choice question format.
- Exam paper will be made available in English and Telugu.
- The exam will be of three-hour duration.
- The questions will be from subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
- Each correct answer will carry 1 mark.
- There are no negative marks.

AP EAMCET CUTOFF’S
Candidates will be able to check their cut off through online mode on the website. It will be released by the JNTU, Kakinada. The cut off here means the minimum marks needed to secure for admission.
Based on the cut off marks, the merit list will be prepared for all qualified candidates. Some of the factors on the basis of which cut-off list will be prepared are:
- Number of candidates appearing in the examination.
- The number of candidates passing the examination.
- The difficulty level of the question paper
- Previous Year’s cut off
- Availability of seats.

COUNSELLING PROCESS
The cut-off list will be published by the exam conducting authority following the announcement of the result. Candidates, who meet the cut-off criteria are eligible to appear in the counselling procedure. Only those selected candidates who meet the cut off criteria are eligible to participate in the counselling and seat allotment process.
AP EAMCET ADMISSION PROCESS
The admission procedure will be followed after the completion of the AP EAMCET 2020 counselling process. Candidates have to report to the allotted college within a given time along with the original documents & allotment letter.
In the eventuality of candidates being unable to report to the allotted college in the given time, then their seat will be allotted to another candidate.
COUNSELLING PROCEDURE FOR AP EAMCET 2020
VERIFICATION OF THE DOCUMENTS
The Counselling Process for APEAMCET 2020 will begin in the second week of June 2020 for shortlisted candidates who have qualified the entrance test with the cut off marks. During the Counselling process to be conducted in offline mode, verification of documents and seat allotment of the candidates for specific colleges will be made.
After the essential documents of the candidates are verified, during the counselling the candidates have to indicate the course choices and the specific colleges as per their preference. Seats will be allotted to the candidates based on their choices, rank scored, category, and availability of seats in the respective courses/colleges.
The candidates may download the list of colleges and tuition fee details from the website sche.ap.gov.in/eamcet before going to the web counselling. During the web counselling procedure, the following steps may be noted by the candidates:
- Listen to the announcement made at the helpline centres for registration. Next handover the rank card to the officer at the entrance office.
- Pay the application fees and obtain the receipt and write down your mobile number in the registration book.
- Take the Registration-Cum-Verification form from the computer and verify if the mobile number printed on it is correct or not.
- Write the details of the Hall Ticket Number and rank and then sign in the register.
- Return to the registration hall to wait for the announcement.
- The officer will verify your original certificates like Rank card, mark memo, Hall ticket, income certificates, caste certificate if mentioned and belonging to SC, ST and OBC category.
- A print out of the receipt will be given to you after you have submitted all the certificates. Now collect the manual option form and leave the Counselling Hall.
- Browse the internet and enter the URL of the links regarding the courses, college profile, helpline centres, etc.
- Select web options regarding branch wise colleges vacancies list.
- Students can now select from the colleges that are listed on the website.
- After a few days, you would receive the seat allotment details by SMS on your registered mobile number.
