CUSAT 2020 is a combined entrance examination conducted by Cochin Science & Technology University for admitting students in various UG & PG courses affiliated to the University. The examination is a university level entrance exam organized as Common Entrance Test (CAT), Lateral Entrance Test (LET) and Department Admission Test (DAT) for providing admission to its various programmes. 

The last date to submit the application form without late fee will be 10th February 2020. The exam will be conducted on 18th to 19th April 2020.

CUSAT 2020 Application Form

The CUSAT application form has been released from 8th January 2020 through online mode.

The application form without late fee can be filled upto 10th February 2020. The application form with late fee can be filled from 11th to 15th February 2020.

Candidates who wish to apply for courses like PhD, M. Phil, Diploma, post-graduation diploma and certificate programs will need to get the written application personally or through mail from the related department.

Candidates applying on the basis of GATE Score or MAT should email a soft copy of their Score Sheet/Mark List to CUSAT on or before the final date for on-line submission of application. The candidate is required to keep a copy of submitted application.

While filling application form, candidates are required to upload passport size photograph & signature in the JPG/ JPEG format. It is essential for all the candidates to provide valid/ working email ID & phone number in the application form.

There is no need to send any hard copy of filled in application form for further use. The candidates are may take multiple printouts of application form for further use.

  • Candidates may pay the application fee online through credit card, debit card or net banking.

CCUSAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates peruse the eligibility criteria details carefully to avoid rejection of their application form. It will be necessary for candidates to understand the criteria well.

Candidates must be Indian national citizens or NRI/Foreign citizens/PIO/OCI category candidates. Aspiring B.Tech students will have to qualify 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board or university with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subject.

Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, & 50% in PCM taken together. M. Tech students must qualify B.Tech or any equivalent examination from any recognized board or university.

Candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying exam. All Candidates should have a valid GATE score card to qualify the exam.

Eligibility for CUSAT 2020

Courses Eligibility Requirements
B.Tech Minimum eligibility required is 12th examination pass from the State of Kerala or any equivalent examination. Candidates should Pass qualifying examination with 50% marks in Mathematics & 50% marks in PCM subjects put together.
B.Tech Instrumentation Technology Candidates should have Passed 10+2 from the recognized State/National Board with subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.   Minimum marks required in qualifying examination is 60% in PCM put together & 55% in Mathematics individually. For SEBC candidates of Kerala State, a minimum of 55% marks in PCM subjects put together and 50% marks in Mathematics is obligatory.
B.Tech Naval Architecture & Ship Building Essential qualification is 12th examination passed from the state of Kerala or any other equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks. In the qualifying examination (12th), candidates should have 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50% marks in PCM subjects put together.
B.Tech Marine Engineering Candidates are required to pass class 12th or equivalent examination by securing 60% marks in PCM subjects put together and 50% marks alone in mathematics. Must have passed 10th & 12th class with English subject by obtaining 50% marks. Vocational/diploma candidates cannot  apply for CUSAT CAT. Maximum age is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.
5 Year integrated M.Sc course in Photonics 12th examination pass from Kerala with PCM subjects and 50% marks in Mathematics & 50% marks in PCM subjects all put together.
BBA.LLB (Hons.) & B.Com.LL.B. (Hons.) Pass 10+2 examination in Science stream with minimum 60% marks or 55% marks in commerce/Arts/Humanities. Candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission (22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates).
3 Year LLB Must have passed bachelor’s degree in any stream with 40% aggregate marks (35% marks for SC/ST).
M.Sc Computer Science Candidates should have passed 3-years Bachelor degree in computer science/information technology/computer applications/computer science & engineering with first class (60% marks).
M.A. in Applied Economics Pass bachelor’s degree in economics with 55% marks or B.Com, BBA, BBM with Economics as one  of the subjects with 60% marks or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with 65% marks (passing marks required for SC/ST).
MBA Must have passed Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Candidates should have valid score in MAT, CMAT or CAT.
MCA Candidates with  graduation in science stream with Mathematics or graduation in Electronics/Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Applications/Engineering/Technology with minimum aggregate of 55% marks are eligible for this course.
LLM Passed bachelor’s degree in law with at least 45% marks.
M.Tech B.Tech or equivalent degree in relevant discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/institution. A valid GATE Score.
M.Sc Computer Science Candidates should have passed 3-years Bachelor degree in computer science/information technology/computer applications/computer science & engineering with first class (60% marks).
M.A. in Applied Economics Pass bachelor’s degree in economics with 55% marks or B.Com, BBA, BBM with Economics as one of the subjects with 60% marks or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with at least 65% marks (passing marks required for SC/ST).
M. Voc. in Mobile Phone Application Development The prerequisite qualification for this course is B.Tech in Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronics & Communication passed with at least 60% marks or MCA/M Sc Computer Science passed with first class or B Voc. degree with at least 60% marks.
M. Voc. in Technology & Management Consulting The candidate should have passed Pass B.Tech in branch of engineering with minimum 60% marks or MBA degree with 60% marks or B Voc. degree with 60% marks.

Candidates may download the CUSAT admit card  from 27th March to 19th April 2020. CUSAT CAT Exam will be held on 18th-19th April 2020.

Procedure for Applying to CUSAT 2020

  • Visit official website.
  • Click on ‘New registration link’.
  • Enter all details such as Name, Date of Birth, email ID, etc.
  • Any of the three options available in login page may be selected, first option for Indian & NRI candidates, second option for lateral entry and third option for international candidates/ PIO/ Children of Indian Gulf Workers.
  • After filling all details, submit them.
  • By using the password login
  • Fill all the required personal & academic details in the application form.
  • Next, please upload passport size photograph & signature in the prescribed format.
  • Proceed to submit the application fee.

How to fill the Application Form

Candidates are required to go through the following step by step procedure while applying for CUSAT 2020:

Step 1 is filling of the Registration form. Registration details that include name, DOB, age, email ID and mobile number may be entered. Choose a username of 6 to 15 characters.

Click as applicable one of the three options available in login page, first option for Indian & NRI candidates, second option for lateral entry candidates and third option for international Candidates/PIO/Children of Indian Gulf Workers.  After filling all the details, submit them.

After successfully completing the registration form, One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the registered Email ID & mobile number of the candidate.

By using this password, first and then immediately change your password. After successfully changing the password, candidates are required to login again with their Username & password.

This Username & password are to be used throughout the application procedure. Keep them safe for further use.

Step 2 is filling the Application Form. After logging in, select the right option from the three options available on the extreme left corner of the page. Then proceed to fill the details in the application form by following the instructions mentioned on the screen.

Fill Personal & Academic Details: You are required to enter your name, DOB, gender, category, father’s name, complete address, etc. Also, your academic/qualification details may be entered as requested in the page. Choose your exam centre as convenient for appearing the exam.

Uploading Scanned Images: Candidates are required to upload their scanned photograph & signature in the application form as per the under mentioned specifications:

  • Scanned Colour photograph should be of file size between 4 KB and 100 KB & dimension should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
  • Scanned signature should be of file size 1 KB and 30 KB & dimension must be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

Step 3 is Payment of Fees. Three options are available for fee payment, viz. debit/credit card and net banking. But no offline mode is available for fee payment.

  • After clicking the option “Online Payment” available on the home page of the screen, make the payment using credit card/debit card or net banking.

Note: Candidates should check your application status as “Confirmed” after three working days of the payment of fees & print the confirmation page.

You need not send the confirmation page by post. It serves as the proof of your application submission.

CUSAT 2020 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The CUSAT CAT 2020 exam is through online (CBT) mode.
  • No. of Questions: The question paper will have 250 objective type multiple choice questions.
  • Duration: The duration will be 3 hours.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will have a total of 750 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded, but for the wrong answer, 1 mark will be reduced..

CUSAT2020 Exam Syllabus

The candidates writing the CUSAT 2020 exam are advised to go through the syllabus of the examination prior to preparing for the examination.

  • For B.Tech and 5 Year Integrated M.Sc. Programmes: The syllabus consists of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Lateral Entry to B.Tech: English, Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics and General Engineering.
  • For BBA LL.B. (Hons.)/B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.): syllabus covers General English, Ability in Reasoning and Logical Thinking, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and Law Related Matters.
  • For 3year LL.B. Course: The syllabus cover English, Comprehension Ability, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

CUSAT 2020 Admit Card

Candidates appearing for  CUSAT 2020 will be able to get their admit card through online mode available from 27th March to 19th April 2020. 

Candidates are required to furnish their details such as application number, user name and the password so as to get their admit cards. They  are also requested to download their admit card and take print out copy of the same.

Candidates are also requested to carry their printout copy to the examination centre and without the admit card, candidates will not be permitted to appear for the examination.

CUSAT 2020 RESULTS

CUSAT 2020 result will be announced by the university tentatively in the first week of May 2020. Candidate may login using their roll number to check CUSAT 2020 result.

The authority will be releasing a merit list. All the candidates with better ranks will be eligible for participating in the admission process when the seats will be as per the criteria.

CUSAT 2020 Counselling

Candidates appearing for the CUSAT 2020 will need to wait for the counselling process, until and unless the result declaration process gets over successfully. Counselling process is likely to be started from the first week of June 2020.

The candidate with better ranks in merit list will be allotted the seats in the counselling rounds.
