Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry organizes a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical MBBS programs. The JIPMER 2020 entrance exam has been replaced by NEET 2020. This entrance exam offers admission to approximately 200 MBBS seats.
Candidates should qualify the entrance test by securing a minimum cut off mark for admission to courses in JIPMER Karaikal and Puducherry campus or for other affiliated institutions.

JIPMER 2020 Application
Form is available for the candidates from first week of March 2020. The Application Form can be filled latest by
second week of April 2020. All applicants should fill their application forms
before the last date to avoid server issues. The entrance exam will be held in
the second week of June 2020. The
results will be available after the written exam has been completed.
JIPMER 2020 Application Form
JIPMER Entrance Exam Application Form for 2020 will be released in the first week of March 2020. Submission of JIPMER 2020 Application Forms will end in the second week of April 2020. Candidates can apply by filling the Application Form within the time period allotted.
Students must check their eligibility criteria for JIPMER 2020 before applying for the entrance exam. All applicants must fill their registration details correctly and of recent details as the registration form once updated cannot be changed.
Students must fill the application form right with their supporting documents made ready for the application process. All photo and signature scanned must fulfil the dimensions mentioned as per the application form guidelines online.
Application Fees have to be paid after the registration process. Any incomplete or wrongly entered application forms will be cancelled. No correction facility is provided by the concerned Board. Printout of application forms are necessary to complete the admission process and also as a payment proof in the future.

Filling the Application Form of JIPMER 2020
Candidates have to register themselves by navigating to the official link of JIPMER 2020. Upon selecting the “Apply Online for JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination 2020”, you will be directed to the Registration Page. Enter the details like mobile number, name of the applicant, date of birth, and email id to Register.
Next, the candidates should click on Go to Application Form Link. Or click on the link that was sent to your registered email id. Enter the user id and password for login and enter your basic details. Now press the Login button.
It’s time to fill the application form with supporting documents kept ready. Fill all basic details that include personal details, address brief, qualification summary, contact details, and other as asked in the application form.
Now, upload your scanned photo and signature by clicking on “here”. Click on Browse to Upload the images. Choose the payment medium and pay the required fee. Now click on “I Agree” after accepting the declaration guidelines listed.
Preview your Application form and press the Submit button. Take printouts of the filled application form and keep it ready for admissions to any institute later.
JIPMER 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria before submitting the application form for the exam. The candidate must be an Indian citizen. Overseas candidates can also apply.
If you are an Overseas candidate, they must submit the proof of Registration under the Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955 during the counselling procedure. They will be considered as unreserved category candidates.
Candidates of foreign national identity must take appropriate permission before the Medical Council of India for applying to courses in the Institutions. They are supposed to send the advance copy of the application request to MCI at JIPMER, Puducherry before the last date of receipt of the applications.
Candidates must be 17 years at the time of admission.
Candidates must have born on or before 1st January 2004.
No relaxation limit for reserved category candidates.
No upper limit specified.
Candidates must pass their 12th Standard/Higher Secondary/Indian School Certificate or an equivalent education from any recognized Board/University.
Subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology are mandatory while English subject is an elective subject.
Applicants must score a minimum of 50% marks for GEN/EWS candidates, 40% marks for OBC/SC/ST/OPH candidates and 45%marks for GEN-OPH in the PCB stream.
OCI/NRI candidates must have eligibility certificates issued by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Applicants who appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying exam in March / April 2020 and whose results are not declared can also apply.
JIPMER 2020 Exam Pattern
All entrance exams conducted by JIPMER exam pattern comprise the mode of exam, marking scheme, number of questions, total marks provided, language of paper and many others. JIPMER exam will be conducted online via Computer Based Test mode. The exam will be organized in second week of June 2020.
The exam timing will be two and a half hour duration. There will be two shifts conducted – one in the morning (10.00 am – 12.30 pm) and the other in the afternoon (3.00 pm – 5.30 pm). The medium of question paper is English. There will be a total of 200 questions, all in multiple choice question format. Subjects include, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Comprehension, Logical & Quantitative Reasoning.
Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer and One mark deducted for each wrong answer. A subject wise weightage of the JIPMER exam is tabulated below:

JIPMER 2020 Admit Card
The JIPMER 2020 Admit card will be released in third week of May 2020. All applicants must bring their Photo Id as an identity proof along with the Admit Card to the exam centre. Candidates will not receive the Admit Card by post or by other offline modes. They can download the Admit Card from the website online.
Candidates must recheck whether their admit card contains important details like exam centre, exam timing, and other details like appearing applicants name, roll number/registration number, mobile number, address of the applicant, city and others.
Candidates have to carry their Aadhar card/Voter Id Card/Passport as an important ID proof to the exam centre. If you find any discrepancies in the admit card, please contact the Help Desk.
How to Download the Admit Card?
Candidates must ensure they follow the steps below for downloading the Admit Card:
Visit the official website and navigate to the link provided.
Enter your login details such as User Id and Password.
Press the Login button.
The Admit Card will be automatically generated in PDF format.
Candidates must download and take printouts of this Admit card.
The candidates must keep the Admit Card safe until the counselling stage.
EXAM REMINDERS
Candidates must report to the exam centre at least two hours before the exam begins.
Candidates will not be permitted to enter the exam hall half an hour after the exam begins.
They must bring a valid ID proof along with a photocopy of the same, and the Hall Ticket/Admit card to the exam centre.
Candidates biometric verification will be done through digital devices. A hard copy of the signature and fingerprint on the attendance sheet will be taken in the exam hall.
It is advised not to
bring any other things to the exam hall. Candidates must verify the exam centre a day
before the commencement of the exam.
JIPMER Cut-Off Marks: Qualifying Ranks
Cut Off marks will be released in June 2020. Candidates can check their JIPMER MBBS results and cut off marks online. Several campuses release different cut off marks for admission to MBBS courses. The JIPMER Qualifying Cut off Marks percentile is as illustrated:

JIPMER 2020 Results
JIPMER authorities will release the Results Online on the official website of JIPMER. The results will be declared in third week of June 2020 in PDF format. No re-checking/ re-evaluation requests will be entertained. Based on your results, a separate JIPMER 2020 Merit List will be prepared for Common (UR), SC, ST, OBC, Pondicherry-UR/OBC/SC, OPH, Pondicherry-OPH & NRI/OCI categories.

JIPMER 2020 Merit List
Merit List will be declared along with the Results declared in the third week of June 2020. No email or written communications will be sent or entertained for the Merit List. The Merit List is prepared using percentile score after the normalization process.

Kindly Note: Candidates whose scores are less than the minimum percentile in the examination will not be considered for admission.
JIPMER Tie Breaking Criteria
- In case, two candidates score equal marks in the exam, then inter-se merit will be considered.
- The candidates with a higher percentile score in Biology will qualify through higher ranking.
- If the Biology percentiles does not break the tie, then higher percentile scores in Chemistry is taken into consideration for higher ranking.
- If both Biology & Chemistry percentiles prevail, then higher percentile score in Physics section will be considered for higher ranking.
- If Biology, Chemistry and Physics Percentiles still exists then higher Percentile scores in English Language & Comprehension will considered for higher ranking.
- In case, the tie exists stills, then candidate having older age will be ranked higher.
JIPMER 2020 Counselling
Those candidates whose names are listed in the merit list will be called for counselling. The counselling for the JIPMER 2020 will be held offline from last week of June 2020. The selected candidates will not receive any counselling letter or post or mail.
The candidates have to register themselves for counselling and then proceed to biometric fingerprint verification and photo & document verification.
