CUCET or Central Universities Common Entrance Test is a national level examination held every year for admission to various undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D courses. This exam is organized by 10 Central universities of India on a rotation basis. To get admission into these Central universities in these courses, candidates have to qualify this test.

The undergraduate courses include B.Tech, Integrated B.Tech, Integrated B.Sc., Integrated B.Ed., B.Sc., B.A.,LLB, B.Des, etc.

The PG Courses are LLM, M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc., M.Arch. M.Phrma, M.Tech,  

Application Fee

The application fee can be paid through both online and offline mode via debit card, credit card or net banking. The offline fees can be via e-Challan of SBI bank.

The application fee, different for various categories is given below in the table:

CUCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, the candidates are required to check whether they satisfy the eligibility criteria indicated below.

  • Nationality:  Candidate should be an Indian citizen.
  • Appearing: Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for CUCET 2020.

Qualification:

  • UG Courses: Candidates must have passed 10th and 12th level from a recognized board.
    • PG Courses: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the respective course.
    • Ph.D Courses: Candidates applying for the M.Phil/Ph.D courses must hold a Master’s Degree from a recognized board.

Guidelines for Scanned Photos and Signatures

Before applying online, an applicant is required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her

photo and signature as per the requirements given below:

PHOTOGRAPH IMAGE:

  • Recent passport size colour picture in a  light-coloured or white background
  • The candidate must be looking straight at the camera with a relaxed face
  • Ensure a front face photo as no angular photo is acceptable.
  • Eyes should be open and no squint-eyed photo is acceptable.
  • Ensure there is no “red-eye”
  • If glasses are worn, it may be made certain that there is no reflection and theeyes are seen clearly.
  • While caps, hats and dark glasses are not allowed, religious headwear is permitted unless it covers the face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred) and the size of file should range between 20 KB to 50 KB.

SIGNATURE IMAGE:

  • The applicant must sign on white paper with Black/ Blue Ink pen.
  • Only the applicant can sign; no other person is allowed on behalf of the applicant.
  • Signature will be affixed on the Hall Ticket and other places where necessary.
  • The candidate will be disqualified if his/her signature on the answer script does not match the signature on the Hall Ticket.
  • Signature Dimensions must be 140 x 60 pixels (preferred) while the size of file should range between 10 KB and 50 KB.

UPLOAD THE PHOTO & SIGNATURE

1. Two separate links are provided for uploading Photograph and Signature.

2. Click on the link “Choose File Link”

3. Browse & Select to locate the Scanned Photo / Signature file.

4. Select the file by clicking on it.

5. Click the “Upload” button in Your Online Application. You will not be registered unless you upload your photo and signature as specified.

6. If the photograph or signature is unclear, applicants after editing his/her application   should upload his photograph or signature again.

7. The applicants are to take a printout of their system generated online application form after registering.

CUCET 2020 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The exam will be held in offline (pen paper based) mode.
  • Duration: The time for each paper will be 2 hours.
  • Type of Questions: The questions will be of multiple-choice Pattern
  • Total Questions: There will be 100 questions in total. 
  •  Marks: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer. However, every wrong answer will cause reduction of 0.25 marks.

How to Fill the CUCET Application Form

The CUCET 2020 Application Form is to be filled through online mode. Candidates are required to peruse the instructions carefully before filling the application form carefully. The procedure involves nine stages.

Step1. Registration:

  • Visit the website and Click on ‘Click here for New Registration’ tab from the main menu.
  • Clicking apply button, the link for registration for UG, PG and RP will be reached.

Step 2.  Selecting a Course

  • Go through the items to be ready with before filling application form.
  • Click to choose any one of the links given for various courses.

Step 3.  Confirmation of Registration

  • The registration page will be opened on selecting the course.
  • After filling the details such as candidates’ name, email id, date of birth and mobile number choose the password for you.
  • Clicking on ‘Save & Proceed’ button will mark successful registration and candidate will receive a mail and message on their registered email or mobile number.

Step 4.  Registration Details

  • Fill up all the registration including  personal details, details of qualifying exam (10+2), details if already studying in some other university, address for correspondence and examination centre.
  • After filling all above required details, candidates must read the declaration before ticking on ‘I Agree’.
  •  Enter verification code before clicking on ‘Save & Proceed’.

Step 5. Photo & Signature Upload

  • In order to upload photograph and signature of the candidate, select file by clicking on ‘Choose File’ button.
  • Upload the scanned photograph (200 x 230 pixels) & signature (140 x 60 pixels).of size ranging between 10 KB and 50 KB.
  • Entering the verification code click on ‘Upload images & Proceed’.

Step 6. University & Course Selection

  • Candidates have to select three universities with their courses as per their choice.
  • Enter university code and course and follow up by clicking on ‘Save & Proceed’ button.

Step 7.  Editing/Correcting the Application Form

  • After reading carefully all details provided in each of the steps given above, if you want to edit them, click on ‘Edit Application’
  • Otherwise click on ‘Submit & Make Payment’ button.

Step 8. Payment Process

  • To pay the application fee, click on ‘Submit & Make Payment’
  • After one of the payment options, enter verification code and click on ‘Make Payment’.

Step 9. Application Form View

  • The candidates can now view their application form and check payment status.
  • After successfully submitting the all information, take printouts and copies thereof  to keep until admission process is completed.

CUCET 2020 Syllabus

Undergraduate Courses.

  • Physics: Magnetic effect of current, matter, heat and thermodynamics, waves, electrostatics, current electricity, linear momentum and collision, rotational of rigid body about a fixed axis, measurements, motions in one dimension and  two dimensions, law of motions, power and energy, work
  • Chemistry: Redox reactions, chemical bonding, general organic chemistry, thermodynamics, colligative properties of solutions, isomerism, polymers, periodic table, electrochemistry, catalysis, colloids, chemical equilibrium and kinetics, acid-based concepts, solid state and petroleum, atomic structure
  • Mathematics: Include topics like trigonometry, probability, algebra, dynamic and statics, calculus, vector, co-ordinate geometry
  • Biology: Mechanism of organic evolution, origin of life, human genetics, animal physiology and comparison between periplanata and blatta, applied biology, protoplasm, ecology, cell differentiation plant tissue, stem and leaf, soil and photosynthesis.

Syllabus for PG COURSES:

  • M.A./M.Ed. Courses: Include Culture and social change, education and philosophy, learning and motivation, growth and development, intelligence, current issue, personality, teaching process, method of teaching.
  • LLM Courses: Syllabus Covers Public international law, human rights law, property law, constitution, law of torts, criminal law- Indian panel law, law of evidence, criminal and women law, Labour law, environmental law, law relating the international trade

CUCET 2020 Admit Card       

Candidates will be able to download their CUCET 2020 Admit cards in second week of April 2020 by entering their registration id and date of birth. The admit card will be available in online mode after the completing the application form.

Candidates may check complete details in the Admit card carefully i.e. exam centre, time and date, address etc. before downloading the admit card. Candidates must bring their Admit card on the exam day to be allowed to sit for the exam.

CUCET 2020 Answer Key

A provisional answer key will be released by the examination authority for the students to calculate their marks. Candidates can peruse the answer key through online mode in last week of April 2020.T

If any candidate has any objection regarding the answer key, they can object by providing proof. The final answer key will be released in second week of May 2020.

CUCET 2020 Results

Candidates can check their CUCET 2020 Results online tentatively in the last week of May 2020. Results will be published by the examining authority based on marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination and can be checked by the students by entering their User id and password.

A merit list will be prepared for UG and PG students on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the exam by the Central universities.

CUCET 2020 Cut Off

The CUCET 2020 cut off will be released by the Central Universities in online mode. The cut off will be based on candidate’s performance in the common entrance examination.

Candidates are required to secure the cut off marks to be eligible for admission in the universities. The cut off will be based on various factors like availability of seats, candidate’s performance in exam, etc.

CUCET 2020 Counselling Process

After the results are published, shortlisted candidates will be allowed to attend the counselling rounds. The universities will organize their separate counselling in online mode. Through the counselling, seats will be allotted to the candidates.

Candidates who wish to secure admission in participating universities are required to fill the admission form of the respective university.

On the counselling day, candidates need to carry admission form with various other required documents in original.

Candidates are advised to carry the following documents required on the counselling day:

  • 10th and 12th Mark sheets
  • 10th and 12th certificates
  • CUCET 2020 Score card
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • CUCET 2020 Admission Card along with passport size photographs, etc.

CUCET 2020 Preparation Tips.

The following tips for preparation will be helpful for the examination:

  • A proper time table and study schedule will be highly useful.
  • Revision on the daily basis.
  • Try to understand the basic concepts clearly and then solve the questions easily.
  • Solve the online test, mock test and solve the previous year question papers.
  • Candidate should stay fit and healthy during preparation period.
  • Improve your English language skill by reading newspapers or from more sources.
