Andhra Pradesh Law Common entrance Test or AP LAWCET for short is an entrance examination that is held only once in a year. This is a state-level examination for those seeking admission to Law courses after 3 years & 5 Year LLB graduation. The entrance exam will be conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University on behalf of APSCHE, Hyderabad.

AP LAWCET 2020 Application Form

The AP LAWCET 2020 application form is available online. All applicants can submit their application forms from second week of March 2020. Last date to submit all application forms is till second week of April 2020.

He/she should fill all details in the application form by providing their valid email id and mobile number as instructed in the application form. They are requested to check the official website for any updates in the application forms and dates.

The applicants must upload their scanned photo and signature in JPG or JPEG formats. The signature/thumb impression size instructed should not be less than 30 KB while photos should not be less than 50KB.

Any application found incomplete or incorrect will be automatically rejected. The concerned authority provides the correction facility in the application form. No kind of hard copy or printed application form is to be sent to the concerned authority.

Keep the necessary printouts safe till the admission process is over.

The Application Fee can be submitted through AP/TS online centre via debit card/credit card or even net-banking.  All candidates irrespective of whichever category should pay Rs. 750/- as application fee and Rs.500/- as an additional late fee. The Application fee is non-refundable or non-transferable.

AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates can refer the eligibility criteria be-fore applying:

The applying person should be an Indian National. He/she must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh State. Candidates parents should be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh. Their parents must have studied at Andhra Pradesh State.

If you are applying for a 3 year LLB Programme, he/she must pass their Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 year duration in any discipline from a recognized Board/University.  He/she in the general category must achieve an aggregate of 45%marks while 40% marks for the SC/ST candidates in the qualifying exam.

Applicants in the final -year of college are eligible. While applying for the             entrance test, the candidate must be minimum 21 years. Candidates applying for 5 years LLB Programme must pass their 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized university or board.

How to Apply for AP LAWCET 2020?

Make a Fee payment by clicking on the Fee Payment Tab. The Fee payment page opens. Enter the qualifying details like Examination Hall Ticket No., Candidate’s Name, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID, stream, etc. Once the details have been filled, click on Initiate Payment button. Choose the medium of payment and pay the application fee. Upon successful payment a message Transaction is Successful is displayed along with the Payment ID.

Candidates can make the payment via APonline/TSonline centres. They must collect their fee payment receipt containing a payment reference Id.

Click on the “Know Your Payment Status” option.  Fill details like hall ticket number and mobile number carefully.  Click on the “Check Payment Status” button.  The status of payment done by the candidates will be displayed.

AP LAWCET 2020 Exam Pattern

AP LAWCET will be organized online by computer-based test. Language medium for the entrance exam is English and Telugu.  The examination is divided into three sections, i.e. General Knowledge and Mental AbilityCurrent Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law.

The exam is of a one hour and thirty minutes (90 Minutes). The question paper is a total of 120 questions. Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There are no negative markings.

AP LAWCET 2020 Admit Card

Admit cards of AP LAWCET 2020 will be issued by the Sri Krishndeveraya University on behalf of APSCHE in the first week of May 2020. The Admit Card contains details such as exam time, exam location, exam guidelines, exam application number, mobile number and others.

Any candidate using a scribe must produce their valid photo ID proof along with originals and photocopies and an affidavit to prove the authenticity of the candidate.  Tampering with the Admit Card will lead to automatic disqualification. Any discrepancy arising in the admit card should be notified to the concerned authorities at the earliest.

Steps to Download your Admit Card

Candidates must follow the steps to download their admit card:

Visit the official website of AP LAWCET at sche.ap.gov.in

Click  Download Hall Ticket Link.

Enter your payment details like Reference ID, Registration number, Qualifying Exam Hall Ticket Number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth in the fields specified. Click the Download Hall Ticket tab. Download the Admit card and take enough printouts.

AP LAWCET 2020 Exam Instructions

Candidates must reach the exam centre before one hour from the commencement of the test.

Keep the hall ticket safe it will be required at the time of test and later at the time of admission.

Candidates must not tamper or damage the Admit Card provided. Candidates must preserve the card until notified for the counselling process. 

Candidates are not permitted into the examination hall after the scheduled time.  Any kind of study material, communication devices & electronic gadgets will not be permitted in the examination hall.

Jurisprudence: Schools of Jurisprudence – Sources of Law, Rights and duties – Ownership and Possession, Persons, Custom Precedent and Legislation, Obligation, Liability, Legal Sanctions, Property.

Public international law: International Law and Municipal Law, Air, Sea and outer space, Nationality and Statelessness, Subjects, State Territory, Extradition, United Nations, Asylum, State Jurisdiction.

Crimes and Torts: Indian Penal Code -General Principles & General Exceptions, General principles of To State liability for torts, Consumer Protection Act,1986, etc.

Constitutional law: Nature of the constitution: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Executive, Judiciary and Legislature, Center-State Relations, Emergency provisions, Amendments to the constitution.

Public International Law: International law of municipal law, subjects, state, air, territory, sea and outer space, nationality and statelessness, extradition, state jurisdiction, united nations, asylum.

AP LAWCET 2020 Results

The results of AP LAWCET 2020 will be published online in May 2020. The applicants can check their results by visiting the official website of AP LAWCET.

Select the link provided and enter mandatory details like Application Roll Number and Hall Ticket Number. Press on Submit.

The results will appear on your screen. Take adequate printouts of your scorecard or rank card until the counselling process begins.

AP LAWCET Cut Off Marks

Cut off marks are the marks required by a candidate to qualify for the entrance exam. The minimum qualifying cut off marks is 35% for all candidates. The candidates must submit their caste category certificates to claim seats if found in any SC/ST related category.

Tie Break in Cut Off Marks

If two or more candidates get same marks then, their ranks sare scored on the basis of tie breaking criteria. The marks will be decided as follows:

  • The marks secured in part c in AP LAWCET 2020
  • The marks secured in part B in AP LAWCET 2020
  • Candidates who is higher in age will get preference.

AP LAWCET Web Counselling

All eligible and qualified candidates are invited for the counselling session. The shortlisted candidates have to report at the centre mentioned in their call centre on time. All details regarding counselling are updated on the official website of AP LAWCET 2020. Once, the verification of certificates of the shortlisted candidates is over, they need to report online for web counselling session.

The shortlisted applicants have to pay their counselling fee online on the official website. The payment gateway for the candidates is as scheduled at sche.ap.gov.in.  Selected candidates must enter their hall ticket and rank number to pay the required counselling fee.

AP LAWCET 2020 Reminders

Candidates must get acquainted with the instructions laid out in the instruction booklet or the Application Form guidelines.

The AP LAWCET call letter must be carried along with other necessary documents on the exam day.  The applicants must reach 30 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. All candidates must carry a ballpoint pen to the exam hall. Biometric data will be captured at the test venue.

All types of stationary materials like printed or written notepads, bits of papers, pencil boxes, plastic pouches, Log table calculators, scales and writing pads are not allowed inside the exam hall.

All devices like pen-drives, electronic pen/scanner, mobile phones, Bluetooth earphones, microphones, pagers, and health bands are strictly forbidden.  Miscellaneous devices like watches, belts, caps, etc must not be brought to the exam hall.

No eatables are allowed inside the exam hall. Ornaments such as rings, ear rings, necklaces, pendants, badges and brooches are subject to thorough frisking.

No unfair means or mischievous activities will be tolerated.  Candidates are allowed to appear only once for the exam.
