GCET 2020 is an entrance exam that is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa. This is a state-level entrance exam aimed for professional degree programs to aspiring students. The admission is based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam.
GCET 2020 Application Form
Candidates are advised to fill the application form with utmost care within the stipulated time. Candidates must go through the application details given o fill the application form.
- Candidates have to download and print the application form to fill.
- Candidates have to fill the application form in their own handwriting. No online mode will be available to fill and submit the form.
- The application form should be submitted at notified locations such as Centre opted on the specified date along with prescribed fee.
- The application form for GCET 2020 will start from first week of April 2020.
- Late forms will be accepted with additional late fee of Rs. 1500/– till scheduled date.
- Application forms cannot not be accepted after the last date specified for submission of late forms.
- Candidates have to fill all the asked details in the application form and select the examination centre also.
- The application form will be accepted only on payment of the application fee.

- It can be submitted in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji, Goa, on any Scheduled Bank.

How to Apply for GCET 2020 Application Form?

- Go through the official website.
- Click on the link ‘Download GCET 2020 Application Form’.
- Download it and take a printout of the same.
- Fill all the asked details carefully in the application form.
- Candidates are advised to fill the application form in their own handwriting.
- Fill the details like name, address, gender, education, subject code, exam centre and etc. in the form.
- Now, fill the asked details in the demand draft carefully.
- After entering all the details, paste a passport size photograph in the given space.

GCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates wishing for admission to GCET 2020 courses, should fulfil the eligibility criteria given below:
- Nationality: Candidates of Indian national.
- NRI: Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport can also apply for seats reserved under NRI quota. OCI/PIO can also apply under this category.
- Qualifying Exam: Those candidates who have already passed/have appeared, or are appearing at 12th Science or in the equivalent examination, before the start of the academic session, are eligible.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates should have secured 45% for general & 40% for reserved categories.
- Subjects like English, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory subjects, along with additional subjects like Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology/Chemistry.
- Score Card: Candidates desiring to seek admissions to Degree Courses in Architecture must appear and have a valid score in NATA 2020.
GCET 2020 Exam Pattern
Candidates can now go through the GCET exam pattern to appear in the written test:
- Mode: The exam will be conducted through offline mode (OMR).
- Duration: To complete the whole exam, 2 hours will be allotted to the candidates.
- Number of Questions: Each paper will consist of 75 questions.
- Type of Questions: Multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam.
- Marking Scheme: Correct answer will carry one mark for each question.
- Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for wrong/multiple answers.
- Candidates seeking admissions only to Pharmacy Course need not appear in Mathematics subject at GCET.

GCET Exam Syllabus
The syllabus for GCET will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim.
Standard 12th (Science) subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be included in the syllabus. The official authority also provides complete syllabus along with the information brochure.
GCET 2020 Admit Card
Admit Card will not be available to download through online mode. Candidates can fetch their admit card from the designated exam centres.
Candidates have to submit the filled-in application form to get their admit card. However, those candidates who filled the application forms with late fee, can get their admit card till the last week of April 2020.
The admission committee will not send admit card to any candidate individually by post. No candidate will be permitted to sit in the examination hall without a photo and the admit card. The written exam of GCET will be conducted on 5th & 6th May 2020.
GCET entrance exam Results will be published in fourth week of May 2020. The submission of application form and getting admit card will be started from first week of April 2020.
How to get the Admit Card?
Candidates are required to have the details given below to get their GCET 2020 admit card:
- Go to the prescribed designated centre of DTE, Goa.
- Submit your filled-in application form to the authority.
- Get your ‘Photo Admit Card’ from the authority.
- Check details printed on it carefully.
- In case of any discrepancy, contact the authority immediately.
- Keep two-three photocopies of admit card safe till the admission process.

GCET 2020 Exam RESULTS
The Directorate of Technical Education will release the GCET 2020 result in May 2020. The result will be available at the official website i.e.www.dte.goa.gov.in.
The final merit list will be prepared for the candidates who will be eligible to appear in GCET Counselling.

- In the result, candidates roll number and marks scored in each subject will be mentioned.

GCET 2020 Merit List
Provisional GCET 2020 merit list will be released in the second week of June. The provisional merit list of GCET 2020 consists of ranks scored by the candidates along with their 12th standard and GCET 2020 scores.
The shortlisted candidates for GCET Counselling will be selected, based on their GCET merit list 2020. The merit list of GCET 2020 will be published at the admission centre as well as online for all candidates.
The name of the candidates, their 12th standard and GCET 2020 scores along with the ranks will be available in GCET merit list 2020.
The candidates will be able to check their ranks as per their category online. After checking their ranks, the candidates are advised to verify their allotted marks and details in the provisional merit list of GCET 2020.
If any mistakes are found in the released merit list, then the candidates can report to the committee within 24 hours. Objections raised after 24 hours will not be accepted.
Tie-Breaking Method of GCET Merit List 2020
When situations where two or more candidates securing the same aggregate marks arise, in the GCET 2020 merit list, the authorities will use the following methods as listed:
Candidates with more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher. If there is a tie in Mathematics score, then the candidate who has scored more in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
If the tie still stands, then the candidate with higher aggregate marks of Physics and Mathematics in 12th standard will be ranked higher.
If the tie still persists, then those candidates who have scored higher in Mathematics (12th standard) will be placed higher in the rank list. Finally, if the tie is still not broken, then the candidate who is older in age will be given preference.
GCET 2020 CUT-OFF
Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa will determine the minimum scores obtained by the candidates to be considered for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses at the universities and colleges in Goa.
DTE, Goa conducts GCET 2020 and is the competent authority that decides GCET 2020 cut-off marks.
GCET 2020 cut-off determinants include various factors like candidates’ performance, seat capacity of the respective courses and the college, total number of test takers, difficulty level of the paper and reservation policy.
Applicants failing to meet GCET cut off 2020 will not be considered eligible for admissions to B. Tech/BE programs at the universities and colleges in Goa.
On the basis of GCET 2020 cut-off, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa prepares GCET 2020 merit list for the examinees. Seats are allocated to candidates as per their ranks in GCET 2020 merit list.

GCET 2020 Counselling
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, will conduct GCET 2020 counselling from June 2020.
To participate in GCET counselling 2020, eligible candidates have to fill form A, which will be available from May 17 to 25; note that candidates seeking admission to NATA based B. Arch course have to fill form C instead.
Completed forms have to be submitted in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim. After submission, the candidate will be issued an acknowledgment card which needs to be produced at the time of counselling.
There will be three rounds of Goa CET counselling 2020, but an additional round may be held in case there are vacant seats left.
Only those candidates who are listed on the merit list of GCET will be allowed to participate in GCET 2020 counselling. Candidates can check here all the related official schedule of admission process.

Preparation Tips
