KCET or Karnataka CET as is known is a state level entrance test. It is organized by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. This exam is an opening door for students seeking admission for engineering, pharmacy and architectural courses.

KCET Application Form Formalities
All candidates must go through the application form criteria before applying for the exam. The exam authorities will release the application form online only. The applicants have to fill their personal and education details in the application form. The application form for filling is available from 5th February 2020. The forms can be filled and submitted latest by 2nd March 2020.
After due completion of the application form the applicants will receive a user id and password on their registered email id and mobile number. Next, they would have to upload their scanned photo and signature in the prescribed format of the application form.
The corrections are provided by the KCET
officials later. The application form is valid only after the payment process
has been completed. The
candidates can submit their application form fees either by debit card/credit
card/net banking.
Application Filling Process in Detail
The application form is available to students via online only. The applicants need to visit the official website of KCET 2020. Click the link New User, and Click Here to Register later on. Read through the instruction set carefully and click the Proceed to Apply Online.
Enter your details as required to complete the registration process. Enter your security code and Click Submit. A new login window opens up. Enter the given user id and password along with clicking the Login button.
The application form is displayed on the screen. Students must enter their personal details and their examination details for communicative purposes.
Upload the scanned photo and signature ad required and prescribed in the instruction guideline. Read through the declaration form and tick the boxes.
Click Submit and verify all the entries. Now click the OK button. An application fee of Rs.650/- for general and Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates have to be paid.
Application fee must be paid through challan in the State Bank of Mysore, Hyderabad, Indian Bank, Axis Bank & SBI Bank. Download the challan form and do not forget to deposit the fee at the respective banks.
Once the fee payment is confirmed, the students can take print outs of the filled application form.
KCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The applying candidates must be an Indian citizen. Appearing candidates can appear but they would not be eligible if they do not pass the qualifying exam. Engineering students must pass their 12th or equivalent from a recognized Board.
They should pass the exam with English as the main subject along with other subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology /Computer. 45%marks are required in the general category and 40% marks for the reserved categories.
KCET 2020 exam pattern
KCET exam pattern gives the students a brief about the type of questions asked and pattern of questions asked in the exam. The exam will be conducted offline. That is through pen and paper mode. Questions from subjects like Physics, Chemistry and mathematics will be asked on a random basis.
The question paper is purely objective mode. The students have a total 80 minutes to answer each section. The exam will be conducted in different sessions. English is the medium of questions. 1 mark is given for each right answer. There is no negative marking.

KCET 2020 Admit Card
The students can download their admit card online. The Admit card will not be sent by any other means to the candidate. Those applicants who have paid their application fee are eligible for downloading the admit card.

Visit the official website. Open the link and you will be directed to the KCET website. Enter your basic details like application number and date of birth. Click on the submit button and the admit card appears on your screen. Download and keep it for counselling procedures.
Instructions for Students
- Candidates must comply with the instructions given on the day of exam otherwise their test stands cancelled.
- Candidates must bring one photo Id proof for the verification of candidate’s identity.
- Do not bring anything extra along with admit card.
- They should arrive at the examination centre one hour before the examination.
KCET 2020 Cut Off
KCET Cut Off’s include the opening and closing ranks for different branches of several colleges in Karnataka. The cut off marks will be released only after the rounds of counselling. Cut off marks are different for different disciplines of engineering.
Factors affecting the Cut off marks
- Grand total of number of candidates appeared in KCET examination.
- The complete number of seats available for each course at the institution.
- The difficulty level of the question paper.
- Average marks scored by the candidates in the entrance exam.
- Candidate’s performance in qualifying examination & the Karnataka CET examination in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in both the qualifying examination
- The reservation of seats for candidates belonging to different categories.
KCET 2020 Counselling
The KCET Counselling will begin after declaring of results. Students will be shortlisted based on the merit list prepared. The document verification step includes the shortlisted student to report to the counselling centre with the original documents.
A list of counselling centres are available online. the documents need to be verified in person. Seats are allotted top the students based on the entrance marks and filled choices. The KCET Counselling Schedule is as listed below:

KCET Counselling Procedure
- Candidates have to verify their original documents to participate in the KCET Counselling procedure.
- Once verified, the candidates if found eligible will be able to avail the online option entry. The option entry is done from the official website of KEA.
- While the option entry is implemented, candidates have to fill choices for their branch and college by paying the counselling fee.
- A few days after the option entry, the seat allotment result will be announced online.
- Allotment of seats is purely based on candidate’s rank in KCET exam and choices filled.
- The admission letter can be downloaded by the candidates after the allotment of seats from the website.
- Confirmation of seats by reporting to the allotted institute and completing all admission formalities is required.

KCET 2020 Preparation Tips
Making proper timetable and sticking to it is a good practice. This helps the students to be organized and easy to answer the questions. It helps improve the speed and accuracy of the students.
The students must revise their syllabus and go through previous years questions. The trend of asking questions changes every year. So, students must be well prepared for that. They should note down the important points and revise them carefully.
