Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia, established in 1920 as a faculty, is currently one of the premier government medical universities in Eastern Europe under the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.The University has been recognized by the MCI, WHO, UNESCO and other medical bodies.

During its long years of functioning, the University has trained over 30,000 doctors. Its 1000 strong members of faculty include over 162 Doctors of Science and 481 Ph.D. degree holders and others consisting of assistant professors, lecturers and clinicians working at the theoretical and clinical departments at clinical hospitals.

YSMU campus houses administrative and academic buildings, Heratsi University Hospital Complex with its fourteen clinics, an outpatient clinic, diagnostic laboratories, and ancillary facilities. The University has 462 auditoriums for students.

The Hostel Cafeteria is a non-commercial dining facility providing food at cheap prices. Indian food is also available. In addition there are 4 other cafeterias in the University campus operating on a non-commercial basis.

The hostels are provided with Wi-Fi equipped Computer hall, Reading hall, Conference Hall, Event hall, Dining hall, Television lounge, Laundry facilities and Sports ground. Laundry equipment is also available at the Hostel. The Hostel is supplied with cold and hot water and energy on a 24-hour basis. The safety and security of students are ensured by the Hostel Security officers.

First-Aid unit at the Hostel provides first aid and medical care on a 24-hour basis. The hostels are conveniently located at walking distance of 2-3 min from the bus stop from where students can catch comfortable buses and mini-buses to the University.

 The University maintains separate complexes for sports to maintain the student’s health and physique. There are separate library rooms and swimming pools to relax and refresh the minds of students.

The University of Traditional Medicine, Armenia, founded in 1991 and located in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, is one of the world’s leading universities in traditional, complementary and alternative medicine.

The Yerevan Haybusk University founded in 1990 is among the most prominent medical University in Armenia and Eastern Europe.  The University is recognized by medical bodies such as MCI, WHO, UNESCO, FAIMER and others.

Documents essential for MBBS Study in Armenia

  • 10th and 12th Mark sheets.
  • Travel and Health insurances are necessary.

Important Dates for MBBS in Armenia

  • The months of July and August are reserved for applying to MBBS study in Armenia.
  • The University takes a minimum of 2-4 weeks in providing the admission letter for the students.
  • The Ministry often takes 2 months roughly to issue the Student Visa.

Beware of Fraudulent Consultants

  • Fraudsters lure the students by saying that they would pay the fees yearly.
  • Fraudsters prevent admission to the promised university.
  • They provide admission to low-quality universities.
  • Students should visit Armenia only after getting the confirmation letter.
  • Students should check whether the University is approved by MCI.
  • Fraudsters promise students of MBBS courses.  However, they end up placing
  • Students in preparatory courses or language courses.
  • Fraudsters provide food other than the promised ones.
  • Indian students are lured into colleges that have little or no Indians.
  • Agents provide wrong information about admissions and expenses.  This misleads all students creating surprising problems.

Do’s & Don’ts

  • Maintain proper attendance at the universities.
  • Attend theory and practical classes with care and intelligently.
  • Unruly behaviour is not tolerated.
  • Handle all machines and devices with care.
  • Damage to the machines could attract huge fines.
  • They should avoid going to pubs and bars.
  • Avoid talking to unknown people.
  • Avoid bad company.
