Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) is among the top Medical Colleges in the Philippines. Earlier, its predecessor, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in Valenzuela was founded in 1967 with a view to providing medical and health care services to the people of Valenzuela. Cagyan State Medical University (CSMU) is a government institution of higher education and learning in Cagyan Province in the Philippines. The College of Medicine of CSMU is among the top medical colleges in the Philippines for the study of MBBS.

 In addition, St. Luke’s Medical Center is an international affiliate of the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, all in the USA.

It is one of the oldest and top most universities for MBBS education in Philippines and is a level IV University in the country.

Recognition

The university is accredited by Commission of Higher Education (CHED) of Philippines, MCI, WHO, Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and by the Medical Councils of Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand and Maldives. Also it is listed in International Medical Education Directory (IMED)

Academics

The University has four campuses while most of its 14 main colleges are housed in the Vigan Campus. The Colleges have modern high-tech classrooms with audio-visual facilities, Computer and science laboratories and a huge theatre.

In addition to medicine, the University offers advanced education in accountancy and engineering, communication and information technology, arts and science, business administration, criminology and teacher education.

UNP has highly qualified and experienced faculty, committed to provide quality education to the students.   The medium of instruction is English.

The University has a premier hospital in Vigan City providing a wide range of medical, surgical and diagnostic services to the people of the area. The hospital has a team of expert doctors and highly trained nursing and ancillary staff and serves as the main teaching hospital as well.  

 The affiliated hospitals include Candon General Hospital, Salcedo District Hospital, St. Lucia District Hospital, Southern Ilacos Sur District hospital, Cagayan Valley Medical Centre, etc. Serving in these hospitals the medical students have ample opportunities to acquire plenty of clinical experience during the course of their study

The University of Northern Philippines Medicine has an extensive library with a large collection of distinct books, e-journals, e-books and cited publications.  The library contains a wide range of print and non-print materials for a serene learning atmosphere.

Accommodation and Student Life

The University provides comfortable accommodation on sharing basis for both male and female students in dormitories provided with bathrooms, kitchen and laundry areas and internet connection. Good Indian food is served in the campus. The hostels are secured 24/7.

The University encourages the participation of the students in sports and games by providing facilities like basket ball court and those for indoor games. Besides, facilities for other  recreation activities are also provided by the University.
