One of the premier law schools in India, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) was founded in the year 2008 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh at Visakhapatnam, through the DSNLU Act, 2008. It was 1st named as “Andhra Pradesh of University Law” which was later termed as “Damodram Sanjivyya National Law University” in the year 2012. The University is recognised under section 2(f) of University Grant omission (UGC) Act 1956 and the Bar Council of India (BCI). DSNLU provides undergraduate and post-graduate courses such as BA-LLB (Hons), LLM and doctoral programme such as PhD.
DSNLU emerged as a top winner in the year 2019 by winning the most number of trophies among all the law schools in different competitions like Jessup 2020.
The mission of DSNLU is to give legal education and academic excellence and achievement in legal research. The law college provides undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses and PhD courses to the law students. The university offer various campus facilities like Canteen, Hostel, Computer Lab, Medical Facilities, Wifi, Library, Sports Ground and Cultural Zone. Professor (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash took the position of the Vice-Chancellor of DSNLU on 24 December in 2018. DSNLU promotes legal education and believes in inculcating the good legal teachings so that the candidates prosper well in the competitive world and make it a better place for humanity.

• Boys and Girls Hostels: Hostels for Boys and Girls have 160 rooms each on twin sharing basis and amenities containing solar-powered Hot water/ R.O. for drinking water/ WI-FI and LAN. 2 Badminton courts and table Tennis Boards and Gym with the Latest equipment are attainable in both the Hostels.
• Library: Library with a collection of a vast variety of books and journals from the point of law students and scholars. Facilities of the Internet through LAN & Wi-Fi and E-resources with Remotes are also given to the law library. The open-access system is pick for easy access to literature and other information.
• Mess: The university’s cafeteria has two messes that are managed by the candidates committee providing north and south cuisines.
• Sports and Gym Facility: The sports committee has undertaken the full responsibility of inculcating the environment of Sports in DSNLU. The employ that the sports committee does inside the university is very well-complimented by the sports infrastructure of the campus. DSNLU offers badminton courts, Table Tennis table(s), and a gym in both the hostels. The university has a football field, two cricket pitches, two volleyball grounds, a basketball court, and a lawn tennis court also.
• Academic Block: Academic Block is completely air-conditioned and disabled friendly with fire & safety equipment. The university campus has 11 Class Rooms, 2 Conference Halls, 400 seater Seminar Hall Moot Court Hall, and a Library. The Academic Block is fully connected with the WIFI & LAN facility offered by 1 GBPs NKN-MHRD all the classrooms and seminar halls are provided with public address systems and LCD projectors.
