Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University[JNAFAU] at Hyderabad has a good educational history that has time spans over 78 years. The Institute was established in the pre-independence era. In the year 1972, it became a part of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. When the University divided under Andhra Pradesh Legislature Act No.31 of 2008, it became Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University[JNAFAU]. The management believes that the University has a strong potential to coming up as a Centre of Excellence.

Arts and Architecture education is very popular in India. The college provides education in the areas of Arts and Architecture. The University puts special focus on sustainability and raised the awareness of contemporary issues like sustainability, energy and heritage. JNAFAU faculty members are highly experienced. JNAFAU courses and syllabus are with care planned and up-to-date. 2 Colleges are functioning under the umbrella of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University. ICS(Industrial Consultancy Services) Cells are performing actively in both the institutes;School of Planning & Architecture and College of Fine Arts. ICS undertake numerous consultancy works from the public sector, private sector, Government and quasi-governmental agencies.

Several colleges are affiliated to this University. The University has also signed a lot of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with severalprominent institutions. JNAFAU has a strong Research and Development Cell which makes guidelines for Doctoral Research Work and regulates multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary Research undertaken in the University. Many firms visit the University campus every year for JNAFAU placements.

Library: SPA (School of Planning & Architecture) has a well-mainted library having a rich collection in the field of Architecture and Planning. The Library has a collection of 10,000 back volumes of journals, volumes comprising books, theses, maps and subscribes to 30 journals on planning, architecture and allied areas. It has about hundered CD-ROMS and collection of videotapes. The main objective is to provide suitable information resources and services required to support the teaching, study, research and education needs of the candidates, research scholars and faculty members of the school. The Library offers reference, lending, information; scanning, press clipping and reprography service to the users, SAP Library has ambitious plans for computerization, modernization, networking and offerening web-based services and resources.
QIP Cell: QIP Cell of School of Planning and Architecture is a constituent unit of School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai and School of Planning and Architecture at New Delhi, sanctioned by AICTE/COA in the year 1999-2000. It works to enrich and enhance the quality of teachers and professionals alike, by the conduct of short-term courses at the national level, with respect to different technological know-how and innovations taking place in town planning, architecture and allied areas.
Industrial Consultancy Cell: School of Planning and Architecture has long been offering consultancy services in Planning and Architecture through its faculty members and in the recent times has taken a more aggressive stand towards this aspect. The Industrial Consultancy Cell (ISC) act itself as a formal outfit to the school’s consultancy services and main aims to become a prime revenue-generating unit in the school.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell: This has been developed to give innovative training technologies to candidates and practising architects with in-house infrastructural facilities and experience of various experts and professionals from relevant spheres. The cell works to indicate potential avenues to the candidates for self-employment in the allied stream of architecture and improve managerial capabilities of professionals and organisational set-ups.
Computer Lab: The JNAFAU campus is well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology and well-efficient computers available to candidates for work and research anytime.
