Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University [PJTSAU], Hyderabad is the only farm university in Telangana. PJTSAU and the institutes and courses are accredited to National Agricultural Education Board of ICAR. The Telangana agricultural University was a integral part of several historical Incidents Including the bifurcation of AP at the year of 2014. At the time of the Initial stage of PJTSAU University was called as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University and it was established in the year 1964.
As a result of 2nd Educational Commission(1964-66) which was headed by Dr. D.S. Kothari put an order for establishing minimum one Agricultural University in each states of India. Formally the University was Innaugrated on 20th March 1965 by Shri Lal BahadurShastri, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India at that time and later during the year of 1965.
The name of the college was again changed in the year of 2014 because of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and it was renamed as Professor Jayashankar Telengana State Agricultural University named in honour and Memory of Professor Jayashankar an educationist.PJTSAU is having 16 Agricultural research stations nine District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres (DAATTCs), Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC), Agricultural Information and Communication Centre (AI&CC), and the electronic Media wing of PJTSAU spread across the whole Telengana State with a team of efficient Scientefic Supporing and Administrative Staff.PJTSAU promotes the partnering with other national universities and other organisations to effectively utilize and the university’s knowledge and their resources to address the needs and issues faing the entire global society.NationalAgreement between PJTSAU and other institutions in this country offers a reciprocal exchange of candidates and faculty visits.
Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University at Hyderabad Admissions for different Courses are done through by following the regulations and rules of Government of Telangana. Professor Jayashankar University offers courses in different courses in the field of agriculture to the candidates. There’s a separate Reservation for the children of Farmer[Farmer’s Quota] around 40% of the seats in the University are reserved for the Children who are coming from the families of Agriculturists with a condition of owing not less than 1 acre of land either in the name of parents or in the name of candidates for the candidates.
