The Vinayaka Missions University with its main campus in Salem was started by Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Medical Education and a Charitable Trust founded in 1981. The University was granted Deemed University status in 2001.

The Vinayaka Missions University – [VMU], Salem has state-of-art infrastructure in a campus of 100 acres with a well stocked library of 100 online journals. Apart from the Library, the University has 24/7 internet facility in the library.
A Sophisticated Central Instrumentation facility is available at the Campus. The constituent colleges have adequate infrastructure and human resources to conduct t need based research in respective areas.
A well established Animal House with all the latest facilities is made available at the campus. Besides the above facilities, the University has a sufficient number of computers with steady internet connection.

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – VMU announce its cut off & merit list for various courses to get admission in UG & PG programs every year. There are around 37 department & colleges in Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – VMU for which cutoff will be determined based on the reservation categories and the seats availability.
