About Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology – [HCET], Coimbatore

Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore was established in the year 2000 by Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust promoted by the great industrialist and philanthropist, Thiru. T.S.R.Khannaiyann. Trust aims started in 1992 at providing world-class education on par with global standards.

The vision of the College is to become a premier institution by producing professionals with strong technical knowledge, innovative research skills and high ethical values. It strives to provide academic excellence in technical education through novel teaching methods and to empower students with creative skills and leadership qualities.

Hindusthan College of Engineering & Technology presently offers 13 B. E, 2 B. Tech and 5 M.E and MBA, MCA Programmes.

The College takes pride in having a well qualified and experienced Teaching Faculty numbering 270 with 41 No. of Ph. Ds and 50 faculty members currently pursuing Ph. D.

Apart from strengthening the teaching-learning process, research and extension programmes, College focuses on extra-curricular, life skills, sports and other similar activities to foster global competency among our students.

The College has a vast campus area of 200 acres housing a modern infrastructure with well-furnished classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories attached to all departments and computer centres.

The well-stocked library has over 73,070 Volumes, 16,338 Titles and 197 National & 1775 International journals and is widely used by the students and faculty.

Internet facilities of 250 Mbps leased line are available in the campus with lines to hostels and Library, optical fibre connectivity and Wi-Fi Technology.

The College has sophisticatedly designed computer labs with 1800 computers on LAN and WAN.

Separate Hostels with all the modern amenities are provided for men and women within the campus. Excellent Hostel facilities are provided for the students coming from various part of the world. Care is taken to provide nutritious and hygienic food to all.

The campus consists of lush green lawns, a playground, GYM and also facilities for indoor games. A fleet of vehicle caters to the transport needs.

Hindusthan College sports facilities include a standard 400-metre track ground for athletics, courts for various outdoor and indoor games and Multi GYM Facility.

Other amenities like Post Office, City union bank, Canara Bank with ATM Centre are also functioning in the campus.

A variety of hygienic food & snack items including cakes, Fresh Juices, Chinese Food, Meals, Variety Rice, Ice Creams, etc is served at a nominal rate. It is mainly used by the students and staff. Separate common rooms for boys and girls and staff are available.

Besides the college provides well tented air-conditioned gymnasium separately for men and women with high tech equipment. All the students are motivated to maintain and enhance their general and specific fitness.

The eligibility for B.E./B. Tech course is a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination with  Curriculum prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as three or four subjects of the study any other examination of any university or authority accepted by Anna University as equivalent thereto.

Hindusthan College of Engineering & Technology cut off is based on the cut off marks decided by the College administration.

Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology (HICET) placements are handled by an advisory team known as Corporate Relations, which is committed to the task of securing jobs and internships for every student on its campus.

In addition to placement support, the team also organizes aptitude tests, mock interviews and group discussions, institute-industry interactions, alumni activities, student counselling, etc.

Furthermore, the College has tie-ups with MNCs that help the students to build necessary employability skills. These include Infosys Campus Connect and Nasscom SSC’s FSIT programmes. 

HICET has recently received international recognition from MAC Singapore, the ‘Le Platina Royce Award’, for being a world-class brand status

The infrastructure of the college is awesome. Labs in the college are excellent, and all equipment is available. In the library, all the department books are available. Hostel facilities are good. The college is good at sports.

All the teachers in the college are helpful. Teaching quality is very good with good faculty members. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready.

The college infrastructure is excellent and hygienic. The College lab facilities are extremely the best. Classrooms are neat and clean with smart classroom facility also made available. The College library is huge and outstanding.

For sports, the College has football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, hockey, kabbadi grounds and indoor game courts like badminton and tennis courts. Apart from these, the College has a dance club, gym, boxing, many extracurricular activities, events, and others.  

Hostel facilities are excellent and sharing of rooms depends on self-comfort. The College hostel has delicious food served in the mess at its best. Medical facilities are also made available within close vicinity.
