Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore is a private Engineering College established in 1984 by Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group.
KCT is an autonomous institution affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). KCT has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with Grade ‘A’ and all the eligible UG programs have also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
KCT offers 15 Undergraduate (B.E. and B. Tech.) and 16 Postgraduate (M.E., M. Tech., MCA and MBA) programmes. 11 academic departments have been recognized as research centres permitting research leading to Ph.D degree awarded by Anna University. The College is also proud of 10 Industry-sponsored Excellence Centres.
With well-qualified and experienced faculty including many with doctorates and others pursuing Ph. D and excellent facilities, Kumaraguru College of Technology has been making a significant contribution in teaching-learning, research and administration.

KCT, Coimbatore has a sprawling campus of 150 Acres housing four academic blocks and an administrative block. Playgrounds for various sports cover 23 acres. Four other buildings such as Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium, Jyothi Nilayam, Gnana Sabai and Temple are also on the campus.
The college has excellent facilities such as spacious classrooms, 165 state-of-art and well-equipped laboratories, seminar halls, laboratories, excellent sporting amenities, dedicated high-speed broadband internet connectivity.
The Hostels at Kumaraguru campus have aesthetically designed rooms with modern amenities and the landscaped surroundings offer the ideal ambience for study by the residents. The six hostels for boys accommodate 2335 students in 445 rooms while the three hostels for girl students accommodate 987 students in 329 rooms in addition to the exclusive dining area, washrooms, lobby etc. The hostels also have TV Hall, Wi-Fi access, recreation space and K’s Cafe creating a homely experience.
The eight-bedded Aruljyothi Medical Centre in the campus with two doctors, nursing assistants caters to the basic medical care of the students, staff and faculty members. The hospital with the ambulance facilities is operational 24×7. When specialised treatments are required, the patients are immediately shifted to the nearby multi-speciality hospitals with which the institution has tie-up.
The sports facilities on the campus include a sprawling ground of 23 acres for various sports activities such as, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, Volley Ball, Ball badminton, Kabaddi, Tennis, Handball, Kho-Kho, Throwball and outdoor Gymnasium find their enthusiastic players.
The large KORE cafeteria in the campus serves a hygienic, quality, timely and tasty food to the students, faculty and visitors. The Campus Dining near the hostel can cater up to 240 people. Apart from these food courts, Coffee shops such as Namma Cafe, K’s Cafe, Munch Box are also in place for the comfort of the students.
K Mart, a retail establishment in KCT offers a wide range of consumer goods such as clothing, home appliances, cosmetics, sporting goods, books, electronics, stationery items, etc. meeting the needs of the college community.
The hospitality suite of KCT is known as Jyothi Nilayam inspired by the classical South Indian courtyard style homes. A spacious central courtyard is nested by the Jyothi shrine with 14 guest rooms, a conference room, a guest lounge and the dining hall.

The eligibility for B.E./B. Tech course is a pass in the Higher Secondary Examination with Curriculum prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as three or four subjects of the study or any other examination of any university or authority accepted by Anna University as equivalent thereto.
The eligibility for PG programme is a pass in an appropriate Degree Examination of Anna University or equivalent as per the Tamil Nadu Common Admission (TANCA) Criteria.
Every year admissions are conducted for the students on the basis of cut off declared by Kumaraguru College of Technology.

The infrastructure is very good and the College is equipped with a lot of facilities. The library is huge, with a large collection of books. Wi-Fi facility is provided with a sufficient amount of data. The hostel rooms are good and well- furnished.
The teachers are friendly and provide extra coaching for government entrance exams such as GATE, IES, etc. The teachers provide assignments and conduct tests every week, which helps the students to prepare for the exams. HODs of all departments are kind and regularly interact with the students.
