About Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Krishnankovil
Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), Krishnankovil started as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering in 1984. The Institution was founded by Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. The College received Deemed to be University status in 2006 and began to function as Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) from the academic year 2007-08.
The Academy aims at being a Centre of Excellence of International Repute in Education and Research by producing technically competent, socially committed Technocrators and Administrators through quality Education and Research.
The Academy is approved by AICTE and most of the courses at U G level are accredited by National Board of Accreditation. The Institution has been re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade.
KARE offers 14 UG programmes, 24 PG programmes and Ph.D programmes in Engineering and Technology and Management. The Academy functions with 11 Schools covering different subjects.
The Academy has an accomplished line of faculty, well-trained and experienced in their areas and also imbibed with teaching skills.
It has received DST funding to establish the National Center for Advance Research in Discrete Mathematics.
The Academy has exEcuted Memorandum of understanding with as many as 36 universities abroad for programmes and visits.

The Academy has a modern infrastructure with spacious class rooms and well equipped laboratories for different Departments.
The Central Library of the Institution serving as a rich source of information has a large collection of more than 97,000 volumes of books in various engineering, management, advanced sciences, agriculture and general. The library subscribes to 412 periodicals in print at national and international level. Besides, the library has 3383 bound volumes of periodicals, 5708 Project Reports. E-resources comprising of more than 4000 e-journals from IEEE, ASCE, Science Direct, DLINE, SAGE etc and 30000 e-books from Springer and Science Direct are also subscribed.
The Academy has a Media Resource centre with many facilities including those for Video Conferening.
Multistoried separate hostels with plenty of facilities provide accommodation to thousands of students, boys and girls.
The institution has a world class swimming pool and indoor auditorium for sports. Besides, KARE gives utmost importance to Intra-mural and Extra mural activities for the holistic development of the students.

For B.E. /B. Tech courses, minimum educational qualification of the candidate should be 10+2 and should have minimum 45% of mark in his/her studies as per the norms of Anna University.
One of the subjects at Higher Secondary level should be mathematics.
For M.E./M. Tech, a pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category) in the qualifying degree examination is essential.
The cutoff marks are decided by the College every year.

The Office of Corporate Relations coordinates practical training and placements of the KARE students. They facilitate the participation of industry representatives in the academic process by way of arranging industrial lectures and industry exchange programs including student internships and also coordinate placement related activities.
The Office coordinates training activities for the students (both soft skills and technical skills), and arranges the use of Institution facilities by the industry.
Several students are placed in renowned MNCs such as Microsoft, IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, HP, Bosch, Accenture, Larsen & Tourbo, etc.
