IISER 2021 Admission is done through three channels SCB(State and Central Boards), KVPY, and on the basis of JEE Advanced exam. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research organize a national-level entrance test known as IISER SCB Aptitude test that offers admission to a 5 year dual degree program of BS-MS into seven IISER institutions situated in Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, Berhampur, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pune.
JEE Advanced and KVPY are national-level based examinations that are the basis for selection to the IISER, but SCB is a stream that offers admission to students on the basis of an entrance test conducted by IISER.

IISER 2021 Entrance Exam Schedule
IISER Entrance Exam 2021 Schedule has been released by the authority. The admission is offered to the candidates who appeared in the JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER Aptitude test. The online IISER 2021 application portal will be opened from 3rd week of March 2021 (SCB), 3rd week of April 2021 (KVPY) & 1st week of June 2021 (JEE Advanced) Streams. Admit cards for SCB channel will be made available in Second week of May 2021.
The IISER SCB aptitude test will be held in 4th week of May 2021. The IISER Results will be published in 1st week of June 2021, a few days after the Aptitude Test. Cut-Off for the IISER will be made after the declaration of the results. IISER will organize allocation of seats to deserving candidates for counselling from 3rd week of June 2021.
IISER 2021 Application Form
The IISER 2021 Application Form can be filled by the candidates through the following steps.
- Application form will be available on different dates for all channels.
- Candidates can fill their application form through online mode. No other modes will be entertained to fill the application form.
- Fill the details like education, personal, communication and other information carefully.
- Upload scanned documents i.e. passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Correction facility may be provided by the authorities.
- Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form for future references.
- Application fee will be paid through online mode only. No offline facility will be provided.
- Application fee will be Rs. 2000 for candidates of general category. And for reserved category, the candidate fee will be Rs. 1000.
IISER 2021 Eligibility Criteria
All candidates are advised to go through the following IISER Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria before applying:
- Indian Citizens, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) & Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates are eligible to apply for IISER Admission 2021.
- KVPY Channel: In this category, candidates need to have a valid KVPY fellowship commencing in 2021-22. Candidates will also have to meet cut-off criteria which will be applicable (in addition).
- JEE Advanced Channel: Candidates of general category will have to qualify JEE Advanced 2021 and will have to obtain rank within 10000 in Common Rank List (CRL). While for SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL categories, the category rank will be considered.
- SCB Channel Qualification: Candidates must have passed or are appearing for intermediate examination with science stream in 2021 or 2022.
- Mandatory (SCB): Candidates will have to score more or equal of cut-off percentage in their respective boards.
- Cut-off (SCB): The cut-off percentage for intermediates, prescribed by the Board must be obtained for being eligible.
- Appling (SCB): Students applying through SCB Channel will have to appear in IISER Aptitude Test 2021.
IISER 2021 Exam Pattern
Candidates must be following the Exam pattern of IISER 2021 with IISER Guidelines laid out and follow them before the exam begins.
The IISER 2021 will be conducted Online(through computer-based mode)
There will be a total of 60 questions, i.e. 15 from each subject.
The question paper will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ).
The exam duration will be of 3 hours.
Each correct answer will carry 3 marks.
1 mark will get deducted for every wrong answer.

IISER 2021 Syllabus
The IISER 2021 Syllabus comprises topics from the subjects of PCMB studied in Class 11th& 12th level. Some topics covered under each subject will be:
Mathematics: The questions will be from topics as Sets, Number System, Relation & Functions, Trigonometry, Probability, Matrices & all topics of class 11th & 12th NCERT books.
Physics: The questions will be from topics as Kinematics, Electrostatic, thermodynamics, Oscillations, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, and much more.
Chemistry: Some basic topics will be Equilibrium, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements, p-Block Elements, Surface Chemistry, Biomolecules and etc.
Biology: It will relate to topics such as Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetic &Evolution, and so on.
IISER 2021 Admit Card
IISER Admit Card will be available in 2nd week of May 2021. The admit cards generated will be available to the candidates through online. Candidates have to login by entering their login details like, email id & password. The admit card will be available through online mode. No candidates will receive the admit card through post or any other mode.
The admit card for SCB channel aptitude test will be released in the 2nd week of May 2021. Candidates should also affix passport size photograph on the admit card after downloading it.
Candidates are advised to check all the details & instructions mentioned on the admit card. No candidate will be able to enter in the examination hall without showing their admit card.
In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates must contact the officials before the exam. SCB Aptitude Test 2021 will be held in 4th week of May 2021. The exam will be organized in CBT (Computer Test Based mode).
The entrance test will be conducted in various cities across India. The allotted exam centre and city will be provided on the admit card.
Results will be published by the concerned authority a few weeks after the examination. The results will be announced in 1st week of June 2021. The seat allocation process will commence in June 2021 after declaring of the result.

IISER 2021 Instructions for the EXAM
- Candidates must report to the exam centre as instructed in the Admit Card to avoid delay in entering the exam hall.
- Candidates must reach the exam centre with the downloaded admit card, passport size photographs & any ID proof.
- Candidates will not be allowed to carry any barred items inside the examination hall.
- Candidates who misbehave and doing mischievous activities will be barred from writing the exam.
- Water bottles, tea, coffee, snacks, etc. will not be allowed to be taken by candidates in the examination hall.
- Candidates must not leave their set or exam hall during the exam period as directed in the schedule.
IISER 2021 Results
The IISER Results will be declared in 1st week of June 2021 on the official website of IISER. The participated candidates can check their results through online after the declaration of the Results.
Candidates have to login into their IISER Screen to check the results by entering their registered email id or User-Id.
On the basis of JEE Main, KVPY and IISER Result, the candidates will be able to get admission in the IISER. Those candidates who had high marks in the entrance exam will be shortlisted in the merit list of IISER.

IISER 2021 Expected Cut-Off’s

IISER 2021 Counselling
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research will conduct the counselling of IISER 2021 for all three channels – JEE Advanced, KVPY, and SCB. The authorities will conduct the IISER 2021 counselling for each channel separately.
To participate in the IISER counselling 2021, candidates must follow certain steps such as filling of the application form, choice locking, document verification, etc.
During the IISER counselling 2021, candidates must reach the allotted centre on time for document verification.
Candidates should ensure that they carry all relevant documents with them, failing which, will lead to the results disqualification.
Candidates will be allotted seats according to their merit by IISER authorities.
Steps to Participate in the Counselling Process
Firstly, candidates will have to fill and submit the online application form on or before the last date. It should be noted, that, there will be separate application forms for each channel of IISER 2021 admission.
While filling the application form, candidates will also have to fill in their choices of courses and institutes in order of their preference. Candidates should fill in their choices carefully, as the seats will be allotted on the basis of the choices filled by them.
In the next step of IISER counselling 2021, candidates will have to report at the allotted centres to get their documents verified.

Seat Allotment – On the basis of the choices filled by the candidates, merit list, and availability of seats in institutes, the authorities will allot seats to the eligible candidates.
Fee Payment – All the candidates who are allotted a seat will need to pay seat acceptance fee of Rs. 25000, for general and OBC candidates. In case, a candidate belongs to any other category, then the seat acceptance fee will be Rs. 12,500.
