NEET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

NEET 2021 application form is expected to be released online by NTA on its official website anytime soon. Candidates looking to apply for the national level examination will have to register themselves first on the official website of NTA NEET 2021 in order to access the application forms.

To complete the registration process, candidates will have to provide a valid email ID and mobile number. The system will generate an ‘application ID’ for each candidate. They can set their own passwords during the NEET 2021 registration process. Using these credentials, candidates will be able to fill the NEET 2021 application form online.

NIOS or State Open School or private candidates are eligible to apply for NEET exam as per Delhi High Court order but subject to the final orders of the Court regarding  the special leave petitions filed by Medical Council of India.

The following details may be noted regarding NEET 2021 Application form:

  • Application form can be filled through online mode.
  • The Application process is likely to begin in the last week of February 2021.

  • Only one application form can be submitted by the candidates.
  • Valid/ working email ID & mobile number to be provided in the application form.

Registration

  • Click on “Fill Application Form” button of official portal of the NTA .
  • Read the instructions and click on “Proceed to Apply Online NEET (UG) 2021”.
  • Fill the registration form carefully by giving details like Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Category, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, State of Eligibility (for 15% All India Quota), Mobile Number, Email ID, etc. of the candidates.
  • After filling all the details, note the two links “Preview & Next” and “Reset”.
  • Click on “Next” and the information submitted by the candidate will be displayed on the screen.
  • If information is correct, tick all the check box.
  • Click on “Next” button; if need be,click “Back” button.
  • Now choose a strong password and re enter the password.
  • Choose security question and feed answer.
  • Enter the OTP that would be sent to your mobile number.
  • Submit the button and note down the registration number for further procedure.

How to fill the Application Form

  • Login with your Registration Number and password.
  • Fill personal details and enter place of birth.
  • Choose the medium of question paper and the examination centre
  • Fill details like permanent and correspondence addresses, qualification, occupation, annual income) of parents and guardians.
  • Choose the option for dress code.
  • After entering the security pin, click on save & draft.
  • Now click on preview and submit.
  • Review the entries and Tick all the check boxes.
  • Click on Final Submit.

Uploading of Scanned Images

  • Click on link for Upload Images.
  • The scanned images of photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression and 10th class passing certificate are now to beuploaded as per the specifications mentionedbelow.

Photograph

  • Passport size Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb), Post Card size photograph (4”X6”) (Size: 50 kb to 300 kb) taken on or after 1st September 2019 indicating the candidate’s name and  date of taking photograph.
  • Spectacles are allowed provided they are used regularly.
  • Photograph should not show cap or goggles but should focus on the face with 80% face coverage, clearly visibleears and on white background).
  • Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

Signature:

The candidate should sign  in running hand writing [not in capital letter] on white paper with a Black Ink pen and scan for uploading.(File size between 4 KB to 30 KB).

Left Hand Thumb Impression:

The left-hand thumb impression of the candidate should be put on white paper with Blue Ink and should be uploaded after scanning.In case the left thumb is missing, right hand thumb impression may be used. File size tot be between 10 KB and 50 KB.

Class 10th Passing Certificate:

The candidate should scan their Class X Passing Certificate (File size 100 KB to 400 KB).

The payment of Fee

After uploading the images, go to the link for fee payment. Choose the Bank for making payment.The payment can be made through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/e-wallet (CSC).

Thereafter, a printout of the confirmation page may be taken and kept readywith at least three copies.

NEET 2021 Application Form-Correction

The Correction facility has been started from April 2021 onwards with The Board providing one time correction opportunity only in the data affecting the merit. The corrections may be made in the given particulars & scanned images. These are indicated below.

No correction is allowed for those who have already filled the application with Aadhaar Card.  
Gender   Candidates, who fill the form with other IDs than Aadhaar Card, i.e. Passport Number, Ration Card Number, Bank Account Number & Aadhaar Enrollment Number will be able to make the correction in their Gender. No correction is permitted for candidates who have already filled the application with Aadhaar Card  
State Codes of Eligibility Corrections can be made in State Codes of Eligibility. Candidates, belonging to J & K state can make changes in the status of Self Declaration submitted by them.Candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya & Jammu and Kashmirmake changes in their state code of eligibility. They can make changes only if they have their Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar enrollment number.    
Category All candidates can make changes in the category only as per the central list of category. If change of category involves higher fee, the difference in the fee needs to be paid    
Disability Status All candidates can make the correction. Wherever change in disability status involves higher fee, candidates will have to pay the difference in the fee also.    
Medium of Question Paper Changes in the medium of question paper can be made.If the medium is changed into regional languages, candidates will also change in the center city also.

To Make Corrections in NEET 2021 Application Form

Corrections in the filled application form of NEET 2021 can be done as under:

1.  Visit the Official Site of NEET and enter the registration number and password.   NTA will intimate candidates who have uploaded wrong Photograph & Signature through an e-mail & SMS. Candidates will re-upload these documents by logging into the application portal in given time frame.
2. Click on the link for correction. Candidates receiving intimation from NTA by SMS and email should re-upload the scanned documents within 3 days.
3. Correct the filled details in the application form. No second-time correction opportunity will be provided.  
4. Candidates may print correction slip and retain the same for their reference and record. Board will not engage in any correspondence in this regard.

NEET 2021 Syllabus

NEET Syllabus for UG courses will be the common syllabus prescribed by Medical Council of India. Candidates can refer to the syllabus of Class 11th& 12th topics.The detailed syllabus of NEET UG 2020 may be checked online.

NEET (UG) will have topics from Physics, Chemistry & Biology subjects. Some of the topics from each subject will be as under:

Physics: It will cover  Laws of Motion, Electrostatic, Electromagnetic Waves, Electronic Devices, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Properties of Bulk Matter, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, etc.

Chemistry: Topics are some basic concepts of chemistry, Equilibrium, Hydrogen, Electro Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, p-Block Elements, etc.

NEET 2021 Admit Card

The Admit Card likely to be released in Second week of April 2021 will be available for download through online mode. Candidates should verify all the details given in the Card. If any discrepancy is noticed, the exam conducting authority should be contacted immediately.

The passport size photograph should be affixed on the admit card. The Admit card will not be sent to the candidates by post or other modes, but will be emailed to the candidate’s registered email Id given at the time of registration.

When candidates download it, a copy of itsPDF format will also be sent to candidate’s registered email id. Candidates should keep the hall ticket until the completion of admission process.

The instructions printed on admit card should be studied carefully. Any particular documents mentioned in instructions should be kept ready for the exam.

Downloading the Admit Card

  • Go to the official website and click
  • The computer screen will open up a new page
  • Enter your “Registration Number”, “Date of Birth” followed by “Security Pin”.
  • After that, click on “Submit” button.
  • Check your admit card details.
  • Download it.
  • Keep the printout of it for further needs.

The Admit Card of NEET exam will contain details of the candidate & including Name of the Candidate, Roll Number, Father’s Name, Category,Sub-Category,Date of Birth, Photograph, Signature, Question PaperLanguage, name and address of examination center allotted to candidate, Exam Date & Timing, etc.

The Candidate is required to bring Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it and two passport size photographs to be affixed on attendance sheet. 

Instructions for Candidates on Exam Day

  • The exam center will be opened 2 hours before starting of the examination and the candidates must reach the examination center on time.
  • Candidates should carry downloaded admit card & passport size photograph. Those not having a valid admit will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.
  • The Admit Card of the candidates will be checked by the invigilator to satisfy himself/herself about the identity of each candidate. The invigilator will also sign in the place provided in the Answer Sheet on SIDE-1.
  • Candidates must ascertain andtake their allotted seats. The candidature of the candidates occupying seat or room other than an allotted seat will be cancelled.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to carry any banned items other than NEET 2021 hall ticket and photographs into the examination hall.
  • No candidate will be allowed to leave his/her seat or exam hall until exam concludes as per schedule.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the examination center.
  • Water bottles, tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks, etc. will not be allowed to be carried into the examination center.
  • Candidates must sign twice on the attendance sheet, first at the time of starting of examination and second while handing over the answer sheet to the examiner.
  • Candidates also have to put their finger impression in given space on the attendance sheet.
  • The candidate will check and ensure that the Test-Booklet contain as many number of pages as are written on the top of the cover page.
  • For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of test for any reason, re-test shall not be held by the Board under any circumstances.
  • The candidates, suffering from Diabetes Type – I, may be taken care of at the centre as per the instructions issued by CBSE.
  • Candidateswill not be allowed to use toilets in last 30 minutes of examination i.e. from 12.30 pm to 01.00 pm.
  • The candidates, suffering from Diabetes Type – I, may be attended to at the centre as per the relevant instructions of CBSE.

Exam Centers

All the candidates (Indian, Foreign, PIO, OCI & NRI) have to choose three convenient cities for examination while filling the form. Candidates must ensure that they have to select the city centers in their state of residence or in neighbour cities only.

NEET Preparation Tips 2021

  • Content Based Lectures Videos by IIT Professors and Experts will be made available soon on the website for 2021 session to aid in NEET 2021.
  • Preparation should be based on the Syllabus.
  • Prepare a good timetable for study with little intervals between the study hours.
  • It is necessary to study NCERT books as well as books prescribed for NEET preparation.to score good marks.
  • Students should also include previous years question papers and sample paper in their study materials to familiarize themselves with the exam pattern.
  • Students can practice for the test with the help of online mock tests available on some educational websites. 

NEET 2021 Answer Key

The Answer Key of NEET 2021 will be released in the Last week of June 2021. The candidates will then be able to check their answers & can predict their marks of entrance test. Candidates may login entering their user ID & password to check the answer key.

The candidates will be given an opportunity by the authority to make online challenge against answer key, thoughthey will have to pay fee per answer to challenge the answer key.

NEET 2021 Cut-Off

The NEET Cut-off will be based on various factors like number of appeared candidates, difficulty level of exam, performanceof students, etc. Candidates will have to score more than the NEET 2021 Cut-Off marks to qualify in the examination.

NEET 2021 Result

The Result will be declared in the last week of June. No candidate will receive the result through offline mode. Students who appear in the exam will be able to check NEET 2021 Result through online mode by entering their roll number & Date of Birth (D.O.B). Candidates may take the print out of their result for further use. No category wise result sheet will be prepared.

NEET 2021 Rank List

NEET 2021 Rank list will be released by NTA through online mode. The rank list of the successful and eligible candidates selecting 15% of All India Quota seats will be on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET (UG) 2020.

Admission to MBBS/BDS within respective category will be based on All India Rank (AIR) as per rank list.

The rank list will be prepared in percentile determined based on highest marks. Also there will be tie-breaking criteria for candidates who will score equal or same marks.

 As per the rules of tie-breaking criteria preference will be given in the below order:

  • Candidates who will score highest marks in Biology (Zoology or Botany).
  • Scores highest marks in Chemistry.
  • Attempts less number of incorrect answers in all the subjects.
  • If even after applying all above rules, the tie still remains then students who will be older in age will be considered.

NEET 2021 Counseling

NEET 2021 counselling will be held online and is yet to be announced. Candidates will have to attend the counselling process conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

The State counselling authorities will organize state level counselling separately.

The authority will also release seats other than 15% All India Quota. In this case counselling authority will draw merit list of the candidate in the respective category.

Students are required to register first for counselling and then fill their choice of preferences. After that, seats will be allotted to the candidates as per the reservation policy, availability of seats, etc.
