Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) founded in 1805 in Kharkiv city in the north-eastern part of Ukraine is one of the oldest higher educational establishments of Ukraine. The Institute was accorded the status of State Medical Academy in 1997 and later in 2004, the Institute was granted the title of State Medical University.
As a tertiary medical school at the forefront medical education and research, TSMU aims at becoming a preeminent and enduring academic research institution for training of highly-skilled and competitive professionals meeting the demands of the society.
In the year 1994, TSMA received 4th level of accreditation from the Ukrainian government and is considered among the premier medical universities of Ukraine. The college Poltava state medical university was established in 1921 by the dental personnel of Kharkiv Medical Academy.
