National Institute of Technology is a public engineering college which is located in Tiruchirappalli Tamil Nadu and it’s commonly known as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli it was founded in the year 1964 and it’s considered as one of the oldest educational institutions of India. The entire campus covers an area of 800 acres. Currently, they are offering graduation, post-graduation degree and doctoral courses in the field of engineering and technology the entire institute has a total number of 17 departments in the academic area three centres of excellence and one school educational program offered by the institute. The institute was granted as Deemed University Status with the approval of the University Grants Commission and the All India Council for Technical Education and the Govt of India during the year 2003 and it was renamed as NIT.
NIT Thiruchirapalli admission is done through JEE(Main) entrance examination and for the post-graduation courses, the candidate needs a valid GATE score. Apart from the academic side of the Institute NIT provides a lot of opportunities to the students in developing their extracurricular skills and it includes NCC, NSS, Students Chapters of IEE, Sports and games many more. Every year NIT hosts cultural fest and inter-department fest. The infrastructure of the campus is a top-notch one wth good hostel facilities, Hospital, Telecom Center and many more.

National Institute of Technology Trichy is one among the 31 National Institutes of Technology which was started by the Govt. of India and was declared as an institute of national importance in the year 2007. NIT Trichy has been ranked to be 1st among the National Institutes for four years in a row from the year 2016 to 2019, and also 10th among all engineering colleges, and ranked 24th overall. It was named as the ‘University of the Year‘ by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry awards in 2015. And also titled as ‘Best Industry Linked National Institute of Technology in India’ by the Confederation of Indian Industry. It has been ranked on the position of 10th by NIRF and The Week as well. NIT Trichy has been consistently maintained its academic ranking in all the departments like Engineering, Architecture, and Business Management.
