Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore is an Agrotechnology university relocated to Coimbatore in 1906. The University is recognized by UGC and ranked 17th by NIRF. The University offers 13 Undergraduate courses, 40 Graduate courses, and 26 Doctoral Programs and also Diploma Programs in 11 Campuses with 14 Colleges all over Tamil Nadu state. TNAU also offers Open and Distance Learning.
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University campus has Research Stations and Center for Excellence, where a series of research work is carried in Agrotechnology. TNAU has state of the art facilities with like Insect Museum, Coconut Expert System, Paddy Expert System, Ragi Expert System, Banana Expert System, Cattle Expert System, Sugarcane Expert System. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University admission for UG/ PG/ Diploma is done by applying online on the TNAU official website.
The University Library has a wide range of agricultural materials for study and research purpose, University students and Distance education students can access TNAU E-Library by sending an email request to the official library website after 2-3 working days username and password are provided to the students. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University also publishes TNAU Newsletters at regular intervals.
TNAU has almost about a total of 36 Research Centres for Agrotechnology development and 14 Farm Science Centres. TNAU ranked 68th and 44th in Overall and Universities categories and ranked 105th in QS-BRICS. As an established research-intensive university, TNAU has an excellent network with reputed national and international institutes for the student exchange programme.

Following facilities are offered to the students:
Sports – Tamil Nadu Agricultural University also recognizes physical activity and sports as integral parts of course curriculum for first and second year of UG Students to increase awareness among young students about the significant benefits of good physical activity and the practice of sports.
Hostels – The institute has almost around 14 Hostels for around 2052 UG, PG and PhD students for both boys and girls. There is a Hostel Management Committee and Hostel Administration which is more effective and best efficient functioning of hostels.
Library – The TNAU Library System also comprises of a University Library and around 10 constitutional college libraries that collectively support the teaching, research and extension course programmes of the University. The University Library houses a total collection of more than Two lakh documents comprising of books, theses, journals, and also compact discs in the fields of Agricultural science. All in-house operations in the library are fully computerized using the Koha software it offers web-based access to the online catalogue of Library. The benefit of consortia-based subscription to electronic resources is also confined to its core members and also extended to all Constitutional Colleges, Research stations &KVKs through Remote access.
NCC – The NCC Unit of Agricultural College and Research Institute of TNAU, consists of 104 cadets, comprising of first, second and third year. NCC cadets in several degree programs.52 boys are present under 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC and 52 girls are also under 5 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC, Coimbatore coming under Kovai NCC Group Head Quarters at Singanallur, Coimbatore.
The Training and Placement Cell of the institute conducts mock personal interviews and group discussions, industrial visits and industry oriented training programmes, summer industrial training, internship and final placement of students. The institute also welcomes Professional Guest Speakers for the same.
