Rayalaseema University was founded in 2008 in Kurnool. Rayalaseema University is a state-level university that is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and it is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is accredited with Grade “B” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Presently, the University provide UG and PG programmes in several fields under 18 different departments. Some of the departments are the Department of Computer Science, Department of Mathematics,Department of Education, Department of Physics, Department of Commerce, Department of Chemistry, Department of Computer Application among others. Apart from the full-time programes, it also offers courses under the Directorate of Distance Education. Rayalaseema University is affiliated with more than 150 colleges.
It also provides a facility of online learning through its Online Learning Management System for full-time and part-time UG and PG programmes. The campus of the Rayalaseema University comprises administrative and academic buildings. These buildings are well-equipped with all basic amenities, such as Wi-Fi, medical facilities,an auditorium, smart classrooms, a library, hostel facilities, a cafeteria, etc. It also organize co-curricular activities for the students to enhance their skills.

The scholarship and fee reimbursement facility is provided to those candidates whose parental income is less than Rs. 2,00,000 per annum for the SC/ST students (Rs. 1,00,000 for BC/EBC categories).
