About Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana
Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or VYASA is a registered charitable institution (1986) working for making Yoga as a socially relevant Science. It aims to spread this ancient Indian knowledge globally for the benefit of all humanity striving to make Yoga a socially relevant subject and do all possible efforts to enhance its acceptance and accessibility across communities, regions, creeds and organizations.
The mission of VYASA is to combine the best of the East (Yoga and Spiritual lore) with that of the West (modern scientific research) translating the vision and teachings of Swami Vivekananda to action through academic higher education programs
The UGC named S-VYASA as a Deemed to be University in 2002 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
University offers well designed Yoga Courses and has 114 PhDs, 51 MScs and over 410 students in various branches. S-VYASA and VYASA have their campus 30 Kms away from the center of Bangalore.
S-VYASA has, over the years, standardized such Advanced Yoga techniques as CM (Cyclic Meditation), PET (Pranic Energisation Technique), MSRT (Mind Sound Resonance Technique), MEMT (Mastering the Emotions Technique), MIRT (Mind Imagery Technique), VISAK (Vijnana Sadhana Kausala) and ANAMS (Anandamrita Sincana).
S-VYASA is also the First ISO 2001:2008 Certified Yoga University.

Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana – Facilities
S-VYASA and VYASA have their campus 30 Kms away from the centre of Bangalore. The campus is called Prashanti Kutiram, the Abode of Peace. Lying in the lap of nature amidst greenery, the campus is spread over 100 acres. The campus is about 14 Kms from the bountiful Bannerghatta National Park.
The University has modern high tech computer Laboratories with Wi-Fi facilities and equipped with multiprocessor servers and the latest Personal Computer (PC) and Networking devices. The University has a good library with a number of books in various languages such as Hindi, Kannada and English and other languages as well. The University has a digital resource with MP3’s, DVD’s on different ailments, videos on lectures on Yoga, and CD’s on yoga lectures.
The University also publishes an international yoga journal with a large number of journals dedicated to yoga research and applications. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional/subject-based repository.
