Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University is a state university,has been founded by an Act of State Legislature Government of AP on Act No. 13 of 2016, 7th May 2016. The Act was amended as Act No 35/2018.
It is an Act to establish and incorporate a university at the state level mainly to promote and improve Urdu language.
To give technical education and vocational in Urdu medium through campus related on teaching and distance education modes.
To offer for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University,one of the popular institutions of higher education in AP is largely devoted to post graduate studies and is vastly popular for its excellence in Research and its distinguished faculty members. The University has with Departments and Centre’s organised in five Schools of study. The state Government has devote 144 Acres of land for the permanent site of the Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University at Orvakal on Kurnool at Nandyal highway (NH-40).

The AHUUK University also offer some facilities for the candidates in order to confirm their ease factor at the maximum possible limit. Some of the proposed facilities are mentioned below:
Library: The university has a fine-rich collection of volumes, textbooks, e-journals, and other supporting materials.
Sports Facilities: AHUUK University has provisions of sports facilities as well to boost the fitness factor of the candidates during their crucial academic years.
Health Center: The university has a Health Center in its premises with all basic medical instrument to give first aid and basic health practices in no time on such a case of any casualty.
Career Guidance Center: This center plays an vital role in the life of a candidate as it influences the candidates in order to choose their future career after prior thinking and research over the options available.
Women Protection Cell: This cell comprises of a dedicated team of Women students, staff, and faculty members which works for the well-being and overall development of female candidates so that they can be protected before any misshappening by rules and strict actions.

The university has started giving some Scholarships under the age of A.P. State Government Fee Reimbursement and Scholarships facility right from the day of conceptualisation of the university. It covers SC/ ST/ Minority/Backward Class/ Economically Backward Class (EBC) categories as beneficiaries for the Scholarship Programs with online scholarship portal “Jnanabhumi” of Government of Andhra Pradesh and A.P. Social Welfare Department.
