College of Engineering, Kottayam is one among the premier engineering institutions in the state. The college of engineering is mainly governed by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education and run by the Government of Kerala. The admission process are based on the rank scored by the students in the State Entrance examinations while the functioning of the college is according to the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala. At present the institution is glistening with best outstanding records in both academic and extracurricular fields backed by qualified and excellent faculty members and full-fledged attractive facilities.
The College is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology and also with Kerala Technological University. It is recognized by (AICTE) All India Council for Technical Education. The College functions on a no-profit no-loss basis, a system upheld by the Supreme Court of India. The AICTE has given approval for the conduct of the degree courses. The state government has sanctioned to 5 B.Tech degree courses.Admission process is through Central Counseling by the government of Kerala. Students are admitted based on the Common Entrance Examination. From the year 2003, 50% of the seats are treated to be as government seats, and the remaining 35% as Management Quota. 15% of the seats are reserved for NRIs.
