The Vidya Academy college started functioning in August 2003 providing BTech degree courses in four branches of engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering.From 2006, the college began to offer BTech programmes in Civil Engineering and Production Engineering. In the same year, the postgraduate degree programme of Masters in Computer Application has been started. There are about 1900 students and around 112 faculty members. From the year 2012, the college has provided MTech in Power electronics and Drives, Computer science, Structural engineering and Embedded systems.
The VAST is one of the Research Center for Doctoral Research of Anna University. Vidya Academy of Science and Technology is located in Thrissur in Kerala state of India. It is founded in the year 2003, it is accredited from AICTE and it is affiliated to University of Calicut. VAST, Thrissur provides 11 degree courses across 2 branches namely Engineering, IT and across 3 degree programs like B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA. VAST campus is spread across 5 Acres. Hostel facility is available for the students. It includes campus facilities such as Auditorium, Wifi, Boys Hostel, Alumini Association, Canteen, Seminar Hal, Computer Lab, Counselling, ATM, Cultural zone, Banking,Mess, Theatre, Convenience store, Library, Medical Facilities are also available.

Hostel: The Vidya college has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. 400 girls and 20 boys can be accommodated. Students have to pay for over 8000 as a one-time payment and almost 4500 for mess each month.
Online Classes: The Vidya college has the facility to offer its students with online lessons as well.
Training and Placement: The Vidya college has tied up with Infosys for placements ad is accredited by TCS, CTS, TCS, Wipro and other companies come to campus for recruitment.
Extracurricular activities: The institute has a gym, playground and a music club to offer students recreation.
