St Xaviers Catholic College of Engineering – [SXCCE], Nagercoil, established in the year 1998 is owned, administered and run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai. The College is located at the lap of the Western Ghats at Chunkankadai in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, near the Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram National Highway (NH 47).
The Vision of the College is to be an institution of eminence providing excellent engineering education and pioneering research towards developing a technically-empowered humane society.

The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The UG programmes are accredited by NBA.
The College offers six undergraduate and twelve postgraduate programmes, Besides, it has six University recognized research departments.
Students and faculty members are engaged in conducting researches in different fields of technology. Currently, funded research projects from Government agencies and collaborative research projects with reputed foreign Universities are being carried out with the sound infrastructure of SXCCE.
The college has collaborations with many Professional and Nonprofessional organizations and many industries with standing MoUs. The placement and training wing of the college trains the students on par with the current requirement of the industries adding to their employability.
The institution strongly encourages research culture among faculty and students. Thirty of the faculty members are having Ph.D. and more than 50 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D in various disciplines.

The college has all the requisite infrastructural facilities as per the instructions of the government to impart high quality echnical education. All the departments have updated and well-equipped laboratories.
The spacious and airy classrooms are fully furnished with state-of-the-art technology. Every classroom has WiFi connectivity and ergonomically designed age-appropriate furniture. The faculty can teach using a wide variety of media as all classrooms are equipped with standard presentation equipment with the best multimedia tools. The facility to use laptops is provided in all the PG classrooms.
The campus has more than 1000 high-end Computers operating with Microsoft Windows and Linux and networked with high-speed (100/1000 Mbps) Ethernet/OFC/Wi-Fi connectivity. All the computers are also connected to the internet with a 160 Mbps 1:1 dedicated Direct Internet Access.
The Central Library of the college is a state-of -he-art library with its collection more than 28,000 volumes and 8900 titles on Engineering, Management and Humanities and subscribes to 110 technical journals, 664 online journals and 4 online databases. Documents in the Library are classified under Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. It has a membership of DELNET Consortium, and it is enabled with Wi-Fi technology and security systems with Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV).
The library has online access to the journals published by IEEE, Elsevier Springerlink and NPTEL video.
College buses ply on differen routes for the transportation of the students to and from pick up points.
The hostel of the College has a capacity to accommodate 200 students and is situated in close proximity to the college. A women’s hostel with a capacity of 180 students is constructed at close quarters to the college.
The health care cell in the College mainly focuses on health promotion, prevention of illness and health education. In order to cater to the health care needs of the Staff and Students of SXCCE, a new Medical Room with First-Aid Facility has been added to the existing facilities. Apart from these two MoU’S have also been signed between Holy Cross Hospital, Vetroornimadam and St. Xavier’s Catholic college of nursing to provide first aid during medical emergencies.
The College provides excellent organizational infrastructure, facilities and coaching to encourage the students to excel in sports activities.

For B. E./B. Tech, the applicant should pass 10+2 from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% for General, 45% for OC, and 40% for SC/ST/MBC/BC average in all relevant papers.
The minimum eligibility marks for various categories for M.E. / M.Tech Degree Courses are a ‘Pass’ in recognized bachelor’s degree obtaining atleast 50% of the qualifying examination (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category). Candidates who pass in the qualifying degree course will appear for TANCET Exam.or MAT/GATE.

The training and placement cell provides comprehensive training to our students in life planning, soft skills, aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, resume writing, interview readiness, and group discussion preparations. Students are asked to register for placement training in college automation software and continuous training are provided to them.
Continuous online assessments are conducted and students’ progress is evaluated systematically.
