C Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology – [CAHCET], Vellore is a well-established and well-organized College of Engineering in Tamil Nadu. Founded by the Melvisharam Muslim Educational Society in 1998, the College is located at a distance of 100 km from Anna International Airport, Chennai and at 4 km from Arcot, the capital of Nawabs.

The Vision of the College is to provide Quality Technical Education on par with Global Standards. The students will be imparted high quality, futuristic technical education in a cost-effective manner. The College will strive for advancement in Engineering Research and develop into a Centre par Excellence in Engineering and Technology.

The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University. It is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The College offers seven undergraduate and five postgraduate courses in Engineering, Technology and Management.

The College has a modern infrastructure in a 44-acre campus with different blocks containing Smart Classrooms, Conference Hall, Auditorium with full house capacity of 2500, 3 Seminar Halls with a capacity of 300, 200 and 100), Library and other facilities.

The Central Library, fully computerized, has resources in the form of books, non-book materials and journals in print and in e-form. The collection includes 6287 titles with 38170 volumes of books, 142 journals and 4797 Digital Resources. The Library is extensively used by the students and faculty.

The hostels have several new blocks, with well-furnished rooms. There are separate hostels for Men and Women Boarders. The hostels have spacious reading rooms provided with newspapers, weeklies, monthlies, other valuable reading material, T.V. sets, computers, water purifiers and Solar Water-Heaters.

The hostels are also provided with a Gymnasium, WiFi and facilities for Indoor games as well as guest rooms for visiting parents.

 There is a vast sports arena capable of staging Zonal and Inter-Zonal Competitions. A well equipped Gymnasium and courts for indoor and outdoor games are available. The students trained by qualified and experienced Physical Directors have won Trophies and Shields in several Zonal, Inter-Zonal and National-level Tournaments.

The other facilities include Wi-Fi Facility, Campus Internet Connectivity, 75 Mbps 1:1 Leased-line connectivity and a full-fledged Post Office within the campus. Besides, there are amenities like two canteens providing delicious dishes both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian, Cafeteria, City Union Bank Branch with 24 hours global ATM facility and student stationery stall.

A Health Care Centre manned by a well-qualified doctor, assisted by a trained nurse takes care of the health of students.

For B.E./B.Tech, minimum educational qualification of the candidate should be 10+2 and should have minimum 45% of mark in his/her studies as per the norms of Anna University. One of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level should be mathematics.

The minimum eligibility for various categories for M.E. /M. Tech Degree Courses is a ‘Pass’ in recognized bachelor’s degree obtaining at least 50% of the qualifying examination (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category). Candidates who pass in the qualifying degree course will appear for TANCET Exam or MAT/GATE.

Admissions are conducted by Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology for the students every year on the basis of cut off marks declared by the Institute.

The College classrooms are filled with lights and fans, Wi-Fi and all other facilities. The College library is good with a nice collection of books. Sports and games are well encouraged in the College. The quality of food available in the canteen is excellent. The hostel rooms are okay.

The entire faculty in the College is qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. The infrastructure is excellent and the campus is huge. It houses separate buildings for separate departments. The gym in the college improves the health and physique of the students.
