About Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology – [CCET], Karur
Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology at Puliyur in Karur District, Tamil Nadu was established in 2007 by ChettinadGroup, pioneers in the field of Education and Industry, to provide innovative research facilities and growth opportunities to the students in rural areas. The group is currently responsible for 22 private and government-aided schools, Polytechnic, Medical, Dentistry, Pharmaceutics, Engineering, La w and Architecture colleges.
Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology promoted by the Rani Meyyammai Achi of Chettinad Charitable Trust has been imparting quality technical education at an affordable cost to the students in the rural areas.
The Vision of the College is to be a world class college of engineering, technology and management offering quality education, innovative research environment and holistic development to its students. Chettinad College of Engineering and Technology has anexcellent infrastructure with well furnished class rooms and laboratories having state-of-art equipments.
The Central Library as an outstanding learning resource centre has a rich collection of 7674 titles and 29974 volumes of books, 42 national and 42 international journals, 120 periodicals, 3322 non-book material and 1350 projects. It has computerized all its housekeeping activities using library software AUTOLIB connected to a campus wide network.
There are separate hostels for girls and boys in the college campus and each hostel has a fixed capacity. Students are provided triple occupancy dorm accommodations. They have access to a TV room and other leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises. Both vegetarian & non−vegetarian menu is provided in the hostel.
The college has 6 clubs in which students can become core members and participate/organize various programmes actively.
The college also encourages participation of the students in sports activities, specializing in a particular sport. It provides both Psychology Training and Physical Training to the students.
The students have access to the sports complex and swimming pool. The sports complex houses a well−maintained fitness centre, badminton, tennis, and basketball courts besides a snooker hall. There are football and cricket grounds with net facilities and a running track adjacent to the sports complex.

For B.E./B.Tech, candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board to apply for the TNEA Counselling. Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in class XII in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 40% of marks is mandatory for the candidates belonging to reserved category.
The minimum eligibility for various categories for M.E. / M.Tech Degree Courses is a ‘Pass’ in recognized bachelor’s degree obtaining atleast 50% of the qualifying examination (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category). Candidates who pass in the qualifying degree course will appear for TANCET Exam.or MAT/GATE.
The cutoff marks are decided by the College.

The Training and Placement Cell of the institution aims at creating awareness among the students about the professional requirements of the employers.
The Cell provides training for students in areas of aptitude, group discussion and mock interviews on a regular basis by both internal and external experts. There is emphasis on technical training as well.
Students are oriented about the recruitment process. Reputed companies from across the country visit the institute regularly for the campus recruitment programmes. Apart from this, companies from the Chettinad Group also offer placement opportunities to the students on a regular basis.

The College provides Wi-Fi facilities in the hostel. For MBA students, they provide Air Conditioned classrooms. In library, they offer E-Library facilities. There is a Gym for students in the campus. Indoor and outdoor game courts are available there.
There is a stationary shop within the campus. The faculty members are helpful to their inmates. They are skilled, experienced, well qualified and knowledgeable providing smart class facilities. They offer guest lectures to enhance the stundets skills in practical ways. The teachers provide Personality Enhancement Programme to the students.
