About Jansons Institute of Technology – [JIT], Coimbatore

Jansons Institute of Technolgy (JIT), Coimbatore established in 2009 by the Jansons Foundation is a world class Engineering College. It is located 25kms from Coimbatore on the Coimbatore-Chennai National Highway in Tamilnadu.

Jansons Institute of Technolgy aims at developing a unique band of Engineers who will be change-agents in the field of technology by Imparting quality value-based Technical Education.

JIT is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

The College offers 6 under graduate Engineering courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech course in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI) as well as  2 P.G. programmes in Computer Science and Engineering and Power Electronics and Drives.

Jansons Institute of Technology has a modern infrastructure with adequate fully air conditioned lecture halls with the latest educational technology equipment, including ergonomically designed work desks, LCD Projectors, CCTV camera and internet connectivity. Due to the use of ICT tools, classroom learning is not just restricted to textbooks, whiteboard and marker but also, relevant videos, documentary, movies, presentation, online study materials additions to  the daily learning process.

TheCollege has also well equipped laboratories with the latest instruments for different departments, effectively utilized by students.

The library at JIT with a seating capacity of 180 persons has a large collection of 3666 tiles and 13545 volumes of books, 51 national and 39 international journals and other online resources.

The Sivaganga Auditorium at JIT with its gallery-type seating for 314 persons is the venue for conducting events of importance.

There are separate and completely outfitted hostel rooms for boys and girls with facilities in the hostels including individual mattressed cots, along with cupboards and shelves for each student. The hostels have other facilities like all-round water and electricity and generator back-up, along with Wi-Fi. The hostel has security personnel guarding it 24×7.

Students are urged to take interest in sport activities, besides academics. JIT has established well-planned spaces for Ball Badminton, Shuttle, Volleyball, Basket ball & Cricket.

All members of JIT are provided with Cloud storage facility through JIT Cloud service powered by Nextcloud. Students and faculty members can access the service through web browser or using app.

With over 15 well-maintained buses, the commutation of the students is well managed.  

There are also a cafeteria and 24×7 medical facility for the benefit of the students and staff.

For B.E. /B. Tech courses,  minimum educational qualification of the candidate should be 10+2 and should have minimum 45% of mark in his/her studies as per the norms of Anna University.

One of the subjects at Higher Secondary level should be mathematics.

For M.E./M. Tech, a pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserve category) in the qualifying degree examination is essential. 

The cutoff marks are decided by the College every year.

The Placement Programme at JIT is conducted at the campus with the participating companies, and the modules on Aptitude Tests, Group Discussions, Personal Interviews, among others, are organized as required by the recruiters. There is a dedicated space for Placement activities, complete with the latest multi-media equipment.

Several students are placed in renowned MNCs such as Microsoft, IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, HP, Bosch, Accenture, Larsen & Tourbo,etc.

The College has a modern structured infrastructure. There is a canteen serving delicious food, along with juices and cafe. There is a 24×7 medical facility, and a huge parking space. There are a number of buildings and labs. The hostel is well maintained. There is a huge area at the entrance with security everywhere. Overall, it is a safe place to learn.

The College has facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms and a library. The quality of the food served is excellent in the canteen. Sports and games are encouraged in the College.
