Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati is an autonomous engineering technological college located in Andhra Pradesh. Being the 1st one of the 3rd phase IITs in India, it was founded by the Government of India and is one of the recently emerging IITs. The college launched its academic program under the mentorship of IIT Madras. IIT Tirupati provides several specializations under its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs.

IIT Tirupati provides academic programs like B.Tech, M.Sc, M.S., M.Tech, and Ph.D. in several engineering, science, and humanities sectors. IIT Tirupati admission process is done through national level examination namely JEE, GATE and JAM. The institute has a highly qualified faculty including a majority of Ph.D holders who are professionals in their disciplines. The college also give comfortable accommodation to male and female candidates in its residential halls.

The campus of IIT Tirupati is designed in such a way that give an ideal ambience for the students to learn and improve their skills. The college is well equipped with modern infrastructure and state of the art facilities. IIT Tirupati has adequate infrastructure such as library, hostel, etc… which assists the candidates to have a hassle-free learning experience throughout their college life. It also offers facilities to the students like sports. In order to provide them a break from the regular academic schedule they follow. The sports facilities provided by the institute helps them in remaining fit physically and mentally. Candidates can avail of these facilities in their free time for their recreation. The facilities of IIT Tirupati are mentioned below:

• Hostel- The hostel is situated 13 km away from the Institute near Alipiri. The hostels of IIT Tirupati are offered with WiFi facilities, TV, washing machines, water coolers, water heaters, gyms and computer rooms and four desktop systems were also installed in the common room of the boys hostel. Candidates are also allowed to play indoor and outdoor games. A faculty member, a member of the supporting staff,and a teaching staff member are responsible for taking care of the needs of the candidates in the hostels.
• Central Library- The library was founded in 2015 to support its educational and research programmes. The library has almost 1300 textbooks and reference books based to engineering, humanities, sciences and the social sciences, 30 popular magazines and an assortment of selected journals pertaining to the various stream of engineering, technology and life sciences. The library of IIT Tirupati, utilize the KOHA open-source integrated library system and an online public access catalogue (OPAC).
• Transportation-The candidates are provided with buses between the Hostel and the Academic Building. The girl candidate staying in Hostel at Lakshmipuram Colony are also provided with minibuses for their commutation between Hostel and IIT Tirupati.
• Dining services- Kitchen and dining facilities are given at the respective hostels. Dining facility with a seating ability of 120 people was also established at the institute building to serve lunch and tea.
• Sports: Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati offers sports facilities and encourages them to participate in indoor and outdoor games for their physical and mental well being.
• Classroom- There are 8 -60-seater and 1- 120-seater classroom developed with well-equipped desktop computers with Internet access, screens, projectors, and audio systems. And another 120-seater virtual classroom was also set up. Other facilities such as video conferencing with a 1 Gbps bandwidth connection to the NKN were also set up..

Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati or as popularly called as IIT Tirupati offers a number of scholarships to candidates learning in B.Tech, M.S., and Ph.D. scholars. Scholarships provided by the college are Listed below :

The scholarship available to candidates admitted to B.Tech program in the Institute include:

• Institute Merit cum Means scholarship: This scholarship is available to candidates whose parents’ income is less than INR 4.5 LPA. Their tuition fee will get exempted and will be offered INR 1,000 per month.
• Institute Free Studentship: This scholarship is given to candidates whose parents’ income is less than INR 4.5 LPA. Their tuition fee will be exempted by the college.
• SC/ST Scholarship: This specific scholarship has its perks. The candidates will be given a rebate in mess charge up to INR 800 per month. Apart from this, they will also earn the facility of free lodging and 250 INR will also be given to them as pocket allowance.

The candidates admitted to MS (Research) and Ph.D. obtain a fellowship of INR 12,400 and INR 25,000 per month respectively.

The various types of scholarships are SC/ST scholarship, Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarship, and Institute Free studentship as per the norms of the Government of India. The Ph.D. scholars obtained financial aid which is subjected to the MHRD norms.
