The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB), a Deemed University, was established in 1999 with a vision to contribute to the IT world by focusing on education and research, entrepreneurship and innovation. The Institute is a registered not-for-profit society funded jointly by the Government of Karnataka and the IT industry.

IIITB offers world-class infrastructure and an ambience conducive to teaching, learning and research for both the students and faculty. The 9-acre main campus in Electronic City has five main buildings and is well designed with facilities like Innovation Centre, academic blocks, research labs, state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with audio-visual teaching aids, Rapid Prototyping Lab, Computer Labs, projectors, LCD projectors in each classroom, playground, library, food court, four student residence halls, medical room and multipurpose hall. The institute has around 90,000 sq ft of air-conditioned space.
The spacious and well-stocked the library is regularly updated with the latest journals and newsletters. It also provides access to online databases like ACM, IEL etc. Its services are subscribed to by working professionals too.
The Institute has 250+ journals, 770+ Conference papers, 20 Authored books, and 30+book chapters for the students.
The fully residential campus has two blocks of girls’ hostel with 254 fully furnished single accommodation rooms and two blocks of boys’ hostel with 754 private rooms and 76 rooms on sharing basis.
There is round the clock security and all rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi. The campus is well-connected to the rest of the city. International standard indoor sports complex and separate cricket, athletics and football grounds give students ample opportunities to train and excel in sports.
The Institute provides a range of opportunities outside the classroom as well such as industry interaction, cultural activities, sports competitions or entrepreneurial pursuits. IIIT supports the overall development of individuals and prepares students for the corporate world by providing the best sports facilities.
There is a well-equipped gymnasium and jogging tracks expanding over 1 km. The campus boasts of a state-of-the-art basketball court, spanning over 6,600 sq feet. Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Tennis, Table Tennis and Volleyball are the popular campus sports.
IITB hosts a range of events on the campus round the year organized by academic departments and students. These include TEDx talks, hackathons, cultural events, sports events, research showcase events and art competitions.
IIITB cafeteria offers North-Indian delights to South-Indian cuisines, popular world delicacies, and also has an exclusive Jain food section.
