Andhra University Campus, Tadepalligudem was founded in the year 2004 at D.R.G. Goenka Government Degree College, Pentapadu. Subsequently it has been tranfered to its own new Campus with all infrastructural facilities and was ready for transformation into a University in a couple of years. Within 2 years it carved a niche for itself in the stream of higher education by offering prestigious courses such as M.B.A, M.Ed. M.A.(English), M.CA etc. The purpose of the establishment of this Campus is to extend higher educational prospects to the unreached sections of the community.
The Campus is located in the sprawling 100 acres of land which is 02 K.M far from the town. The town is connected with railways and roadways. The present building is elevated in the 30 acres with a well protected compound wall. The foundation stone was laid by the Honorable Chief Minister of AP, Late. Dr. Y.S. Rajaserkhara Reddy with the strong support of the parliament members and legislative members. The main aim of the Campus is to spread and cater the educational requirs to the sons and daughters of the local community. It is the greatest dream of the public of this area that the Campus might be transformed into a full-pledged University in future. With this sacred aim Post Graduate Course have been introduced with advanced faculty. The present building consists of 9 Class rooms, Computer Lab, Special Officer’s Office, Office room, Library, and a Faculty room. It is offers with sufficient sanitation and separate toilets for men and women. A temporary private owned canteen was started with subsidiary rates. The suggestion for the construction of Cycle shed is in active consideration. A number of social and cultural activities are being organized by the Unit. To cap it all, the Campus is running a ladies hostel for the last 2 years.
