About Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre Trivandrum, Kerala

 The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre was established in the year 2003 with a vision to impart quality education in Pharmacy and to produce successful health care professionals.  It aspires to be a pre-eminent centre for pharmaceutical knowledge and practice through advancements in research, teaching and service.

At present, the College is offering B. Pharm, Pharm. D and M. Pharm courses as well as D. Pharm Course.   The Institution could produce University Rank Holders in B. Pharm Degree Examination for the two consecutive years 2011 & 2012.

College is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur.

The different units which are functioning effectively in the college include Herbal Club, Journal Club, Red Ribbon Club, Placement and Recruitment Cell. The College is successfully running the R & D department in collaboration with Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Travancore Pvt. Ltd.

The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, Trivandrum, Kerala – Course, Fees & Duration

Currently, the College is offering B. Pharm, Pharm. D, M. Pharm and D. Pharm courses.

The eligibility for B. Pharm and Pharm D courses course is a pass in 10+2 examination or equivalent examinations with 50 % marks, conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations equivalent thereto with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually. The candidate shall fulfil eligibility before the last date of application.

A candidate who has passed the B. Pharm Degree Examination of Kerala University of Health Sciences or an examination equivalent thereto of any other university recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less than a total of 50% marks is eligible for admission to M. Pharm course.

The candidate should have undergone B. Pharm in an institution approved by AICTE & PCI. Candidates who have passed their B. Pharm course outside Kerala will be eligible for admission only if their qualifying examination is recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences on the date of application/allotment. The candidate shall fulfil eligibility before the last date of application.

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent then to, with 50% mark in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics are eligible for D. Pharm course.

The candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. This should be furnished at the time of admission. Eligibility for admission to the candidates belonging to OBC, OEC, SC/ST will be as per the requirements of the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.

The College has a modern infrastructure with an independent building, housing the College in a 2.5-acre campus in Trivandrum District. There are separate spacious classrooms for conducting B. Pharm, M. Pharm and Pharm. D classes.

The College has an excellent library and Information Center which acts as a primary source for information to students, faculty or researchers. The fully furnished library has been carefully designed to maximize natural lighting to the users and provide a comfortable seating and reading environment. The library is well equipped with modem facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROMs online database, e-journals, books, journals, back volumes of journals, theses, WHO publications-journals and E-books. It has membership with leading journals like Bentham Science Pharmacy collections.

The institute has a well-furnished seminar hall equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment like Slide and Film Projectors, OHP’s, Video Projectors and Cameras, TV’s, VCR’s, LCD, built-in Audio Systems, pull down screens and public address systems with Cordless Microphones. Regular guest lectures by dignitaries from India and abroad are conducted apart from Personality Development and Communication skills workshops.

The College has a well-furnished auditorium used for activities such as seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities, department functions and other events. The auditoriums are equipped with latest LCD projector and slide projectors

 The Computer Centre of the Dale View College facilitates a familiarization course of accessing the internet by all the students. 

The College has a CPCSEA recognized central animal house facility.  Restricted entry is maintained. Well-equipped animal experimentation laboratories are situated adjacent to the animal house. Experiments on mice, rats, rabbits and Guinea pigs are routinely carried out with prior approval from the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC).

The College has a total of 17 Labs, serving as well designed and well-furnished work stations to perform a wide range of Experimental activities. It also has sufficient teaching area for demonstrating experiments. Separate lab facilities are available for UG & PG students in the field of Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Analysis, Pharmacognosy & Pharmacology for understanding the concept and obtaining the practical skills on their respective subjects.

The herbal garden has a plethora of medicinal plants. The students are motivated to take benefit of this garden to identify the species and to understand the morphological characterization of medicinal plants. The plants are utilized for preparing various herbal formulations and research works also. College buses ply from different centres of Trivandrum district to the college at nominal rates.

The graduates can find job placements in drug manufacturing companies, research field, Pharmacies, Hospitals and teaching (D. Pharm). Some other jobs available for the B. Pharm graduates are Drugs inspector, Analyst, and medical representatives.

Some other jobs available for the B. Pharm candidates are drug inspector, medical representatives, lectures etc. After B. Pharm, the candidates can go for M. Pharm or MBA. Teaching is a better choice. The students will get job openings in the government as well as the private sector.
