Saveetha School of Engineering, [SSE] is a private college started in the year 2001 by the Saveetha Medical & Educational Trust under the Saveetha University, Chennai. With a Vision to be recognized for setting the standards of excellence in engineering education and high-quality scientific research the College aspires to promote academic excellence, widen intellectual horizons, inculcate self-discipline and high ideals for the total personality development of individual.

SSE buildings are well laid out in a campus spread over 120 acres of scenic beauty and is located at about 8 Km from Poonamalee Township. The School has the best infrastructure with 100% A/C class rooms, labs, state of the art seminar halls, discussion centre, board roams. Exquisite Learning resource centre. Air conditioned hostel, smart mess and other cutting edge facilities. 

The laboratories are well-equipped with the state of the art computers, equipment and gadgets and spacious canteen. SSE has well equipped laboratories for each department.  

The School also contains spacious lecture halls with smart boards and wi-fi connections. Apart from lecture halls, the School has well organized seminar halls for organizing seminars, workshops, Guest lectures, symposiums, competitions, National / Inter National conferences. There are 6 seminar halls exclusively for the students.

Saveetha Learning Resource Centre (SLRC) is an ultra-model Library with more than 30,000 books of various Engineering disciplines and other sectors. The Central support services for the academics and research include the modern facilities and resources in the form of DVDs, On-line databases, e-journals, e-books, audio video cassettes, books, journals, project reports, thesis etc.  The Online Journal Section with its wide range of international e-journals (IEEE, ASTM, ASCE, SPRINGER CSE, MECHANICAL, J-GATE, WILEY ONLINE & SCIENCE DIRECT etc.,) is widely used by the Students and the faculty.

The SSE has well furnished hostels for boys and girls separately with bath attached rooms. The housing options vary from Single bath attached to four-in-one rooms. The hostel mess serves clean and hygienic food to the inmates and staff. Adequate Cafeteria are placed for refreshing the students after a tireless study or extracurricular activities.

SSE has geology labs especially for the students to understand and identify minerals and rocks using different geophysical methods.  The students will be exposed to various Rock Forming Minerals and Ore minerals, Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic Rocks. They are also guided into preparation and identification of different geological maps and introduced to different Geophysical methods along with Aerial Photography and Remote Sensing Techniques.

Separate vector labs are arranged for Mechanical, Civil, Automobile, Electrical students to understand the importance of mechanics behind the analysis of load. 

SSE promotes recreational activities including indoor and outdoor games. The School has a sprawling cricket ground, exclusive Tennis courts and Indoor game courts to promote sportsmanship spirit among the students.

Apart from the above facilities, SSE provides best IT facilities for the students. The School has more than 1000 computers and 2 servers, WIFI throughout the campus.
