Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology [SRIT], Coimbatore established in the year 2002 by SNR Sons Charitable Trust is a prominent Educational Institution in Coimbatore district. SRIT located in a serene environment at the outskirts of the city is recognized as one of the leaders in engineering education, research and application of knowledge by delivering graduates to the industry and the society.
The Vision of the Institute is to develop into a World Class Technological Institute with centres of excellence in various disciplines. It will provide quality and value-based education with continuous upgradation of infrastructure, human resources and the teaching-learning process.
The Institute is autonomous and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. .
SRIT offers 6 undergraduate programmes and 5 postgraduate programmes in Engineering and Technology including MBA. The College is home to 2120 students, keenly monitored by 163 dedicated faculty members in all disciplines. All undergraduate programmes are accredited.
The institution strongly encourages research culture among faculty and students. Thirty of the faculty members are having Ph D and more than 50 faculty members are pursuing PhD in various disciplines.
With the Industry-Institute Interaction, an ongoing process the Placement Cell of the Institute takes initiative in bringing in industry experts for interactive sessions with students. The Institute has well-constructed buildings with the state of the art educational aids spread over 49.99 acres. Twenty-six classrooms are smart classrooms, which are technology-enhanced classrooms enabling the faculty to teach using a wide variety of media.
SRIThouses a well-equipped library system for the benefit of undergraduates and postgraduates, studying engineering, technology and management. Three libraries namely Central Library, Library Research Resource Centre, and MBA Library are available for learning and research purposes.
The Central Library has a stock of 44,263 books, 3147 CDs (Book), 736 Periodical CDs, and 2623 Back Volumes of Periodicals apart from subscribing to 128 National Periodicals in printed format and 2 e-Journal Databases. NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY is available along with many Newspapers both in English and Tamil. Besides these, open-source platforms, like NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) and Khan Academy are available for the students, with video lectures exclusively for Engineering, Science, Humanities and Management courses.
Ramakrishna Institute of Technology has well-equipped laboratories for different Departments. The Institute has also agreed to set up a research lab called e-Yantra Lab (Robotics and Embedded System Lab) in association with IIT Bombay. This lab is to train the students and members of faculty in Robotics and Embedded Systems. The e-Yantra lab will be useful for the faculty and students to do their research work on Robotics and Embedded Systems.
The institution has exclusive hostels for girls and boys within the campus. Food items are prepared and served hygienically. The hostel has facilities like Wi-Fi facility, indoor games, gym treated hygienic water, stationeries, Power backup, etc.
24 x 7 ambulance service is available for the needy apart from a dispensary which functions during evening.
Staff quarters are available in the campus for outstation staff members. Residential wardens are allotted with individual rooms in the respective hostels.
The college has playgrounds for all outdoor games and indoor games. The students have also been doing extremely well in various inter-college competitions conducted by other Colleges and Universities.
Twelve buses of the College ply to several destinations located at the outskirts of the city for easy commuting of the students.

The Applicant for B.E./B.Tech should pass 10+2 from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% for General, 45% for OC, and 40% for SC/ST/MBC/BC average in all relevant papers.
The minimum eligibility marks for various categories for M.E. / M.Tech Degree Courses are a ‘Pass’ in recognized bachelor’s degree obtaining at least 50% of the qualifying examination (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category). Candidates who pass in the qualifying degree course will appear for TANCET Exam or MAT/GATE

Teachers in the College are extremely helpful. The Institute follows the Anna University course curriculum s followed by many colleges. Teachers are always ready to clear doubts of the students in technical and in other parts of the students’ course curriculum. Labs and library are very good and the department labs are also in very good condition.
The hostel and the course infrastructure are very good. Everything is maintained in good quality. All the facilities required for the students are available here. The library has all the required books which students can use for exams and also for developing their soft skills.
Teachers are very talented, well qualified and knowledgeable. Some teachers are into research and are excellent in teaching.
