Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies[RGUKT],in Nuzvid at Andra Pradesh is an autonomous university founded in the year 2018 . As per Act 18 of 2008, Government of AP founded Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies. 3 Institutions (IIITs) are established under RGUKT, RGUKT Nuzivid is one of them. The concept behind starting such an institution was to offer higher study opportunities to the rural youth of Andra Pradesh. The college specialises in teaching and research in IT and other emerging engineering and other disciplines.

The University is commonly called as RGUKT among the candidates.The institute provide a wide array of academic courses and programmes that are approved by AICTE.The college, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid , is widely recognised for its academic standards. Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar takes a holistic view of education and specilaise on both of academic as well as personality development of the candidates.
