Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was founded in the year 1946 with a campus of 110 acres. The university was earlier popular as The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam. The institute became a constituent of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University with the effect from 1972. The research and development facility has been boosted by the procurement of the latest and specialised equipment from All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE] and MHRD. Few of the funded and sponsored research programs are in progress. The activities are done by the administration from the university funds.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University[JNTU] has five engineering departments with RCC roof buildings. For Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Admissions, a standard procedure is pursued and the selection is done on merit basis. The teaching faculty has a lot of experience and has research papers and authored several books. The University departments periodically have undertaken several internship programs, workshops, summer schools, seminars, and more.
Some of the collaborative researches have been sponsored by BHEL, CSIR, ISRO, and CRRI. This JNT University is playing a pivotal role in the development of technology in the region. It also has plans to develop its programs to E-classes. The university has signed various MoU’s with different organisations to increase knowledge sharing and industrial interaction of the candidates. Organisations with which the MoU’s have been signed are IIT Bombay, Chicago State University [USA], VEDA IIT, Asian Institute of Technology [Thailand], Truzio Technologies India Pvt Ltd, and more.

• JNTU, Kakinada College offer hostel accommodation facility for almost 400 boys and 300 girls

The university does not provide any scholarships to the candidates. However, a portal JNTU World offer the list of scholarships given by the government and how can their candidates apply for it. Some of the scholarship programs listed as follows:
Minority Scholarships
• Minority Scholarship mostly called as MOMA Scholarship is one of the most popular scholarship programs around the country.
• This scholarship program is given to the minority community candidates only. Every year 60000 minority group candidates benefit from this scholarship.
• An amount of 30000 is given to the candidates directly to their account i.e. direct benefit transfer (DBT).
Telangana E-Pass Scholarship
• Government offer post-matriculation scholarship to the candidates who are in need of it.
• For the scholarship candidate must be class X pass.
• Post matriculation studies includes ITI, professional courses, Polytechnic, graduate, and post-graduate courses, Ph.D.
• Students from backward Castes are eligible such as ST or SC with Annual Income Less than two Lakhs.
• Scholarship candidates have to maintain 75% of marks in each semester.
• Candidates for part time courses are not eligible for this position.
• Scholarships are not provided to the candidates joining training courses.
