About Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod
The Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod, came into being in 2009 under the Central Universities Act 2009 (Parliament Act No. 25 of 2009). The University is founded on the noble vision of a ‘caring wisdom’ and is guided by the lofty ideals of academic and social commitment, moral steadfastness and intellectual and spiritual enlightenment.
The Central University of Kerala is committed to providing instructional and research facilities in all suitable and relevant branches of learning with special provisions for integrated courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Science & Technology in the academic programmes. The programmes offered include undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Inter-disciplinarity will be promoted in academic courses and research. Innovations in modern teaching-learning process will be implemented. The University is among the top Universities in Kerala.
The permanent campus of the University (Tejaswini Hills) is located at Periye, Kasaragod on the 310 acres of land allocated by the Govt. of Kerala in 2012. The University shifted its Administrative wing along with the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, International Relations and Politics, MSW and Economics and a portion of the library into the two semi-permanent uni-floor buildings constructed on the permanent campus in 2014.
The remaining Departments are currently functioning in two transit campuses – the Riverside campus at Padannakkad and the Vidyangar campus. The University also opened two Centers, the Capital Centre at Thiruvananthapuram, offering an Integrated BA-MA Programme in International Relations and the Law Campus at Thiruvalla.
The President of India is the Hon’ble Visitor of the Central University of Kerala. The administration of University is carried out by the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and their team.

Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod, Kerala – Facilities
The Central University of Kerala at Kasaragod in Kerala has a modern infrastructure with state of art facilities and amenities for its classrooms and laboratories. The CUK Computer Centre is well equipped with modern computing facilities for students and researchers, used for Its information technology-based learning solutions, multimedia experience, e-resources and high-speed internet connectivity over 1Gbps.
IT Wing of the Central University of Kerala acts as the Central hub for all technical support requirements of the university. The IT Wing maintains the Information Technology infrastructure of the University such as computer hardware and peripherals, servers, networking devices etc. The maintenance and updating of an official website of the university is also vested with this department. IT Wing provides various services to Faculty members, staffs and students of the University along with the automation of existing with a view for improving productivity, reducing expenses and optimising the workloads.
The Central University of Kerala has two well-equipped libraries – one at its main campus at Vidyanagar and the other at the Riverside Transit Campus at Padannakad. Acting as centres of information for the academic community of the University, they ensure fair access to knowledge. Library facilities and services include the fully air-conditioned and automated environment, Wi-Fi network in the University Library at the main campus, free Internet access to all, UGC-Infonet, online journal access in the libraries and departments, inter-library loan, video show, reprographic service, article alert, group mail, locker, drinking water facility, and Web OPAC.
Online journals, accessible through UGC-Infonet, are also made available in the library and the departments through 24/7 internet connection.
Both boys and girls are accommodated in separate hostels with modern amenities and facilities.
The University’s Student Counseling Wing aims at supporting the students of the University in their personal, academic, and career endeavours by providing developmental, remedial, and preventive services to the students.
