The College of Engineering, Thalassery is a self- financing college started by Govt. of Kerala in the year 2000. It is run under Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) under the Ministry of Co-operation. The College of Engineering is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). College of Engineering is Approved by the AICTE. The College of Engineering provides B.Tech course programs in the following six Engineering streams and M.Tech course programs under Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments. The Admission process to this college is purely based on the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Govt. of Kerala. The students of this College of Engineering are getting top ranks right from the first batch itself among the colleges under CUSAT. This College of Engineering is the choice of top rank holders in the CEE. The College of Engineering has made a distinction in discipline, best quality teaching and in good excellence of students.

Mentioned below are the facilities provided by the College of Engineering Thalassery to cater to the requirements of the students as well as faculty members:
Sports: The College offers a number of games and sports facilities within the campus like a football ground, a cricket field, a table tennis court, a badminton court, a volleyball court, and provisions for several indoor games.
Central Computing Facility: The Central Computing System has around a hundred desktop systems with high-speed internet connection for young students and staff members of the college. Wifi connectivity is also available for everyone.
Hostel Facilities: The College has hostel facilities for girls. With a total capacity of over 150 students, the monthly rent of each room is INR 1500.
Transportation: The College of Engineering has eight buses that take the young students and staff members to and from the campus.
Canteen: The college canteen provides heavy meals as well as light refreshments..
Library: The College of Engineering has a well-stocked library with a plethora of books, journals, and magazines to assist young students in their needs.

College of Engineering Thalassery provides a number of scholarships to students on the basis of financial situations as well as good academic performances. They have been enlisted as follows:
Central Sector Scholarship: It is provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the scholarship is for those young students who belong to a financially weaker system and from PwD categories.
Merit cum Means Scholarship: This scholarship, provided by the Ministry of Minority Welfare, offers financial support to minority students with an annual income that does not exceed more than about INR 250000
Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access Scholarship: FAEA provides scholarships to those who belong to the economically weaker BPL sections to study undergraduate and other technical degree courses
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd Scholarship: IOCL provides over 600 scholarships to those students who have an annual income that does not exceed over INR 100000
Egrants: It is provided by Kerala Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Development Department Affairs, this scholarship is for those students from SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ FC categories who are studying post-matric degree courses. For SEBC and FC students, the annual income should not exceed more than INR 100000.
Snehapoorvam: It is provided by the Government of Kerala, this scholarship is for orphaned students.
