Government Poly technic College has been imparting technical education to candidates for the last 3 decades. It had a humble beginning in 1983 with a small intake of 60 candidates (20 per branch) in 3 branches of engineering discipline- Mechanical, Civil and Electronics.
At present the institute is a known name among the 43 Government Polytechnics in the state of Kerala. It functions under the department of technical education. Government Polytechnic College offers 6 semester diploma programme in the 4 branches of engineering discipline-Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Computer. The college has a total intake of 224 candidates every year.
