The college which is located at Angadippuram in Perinthalmanna Taluk, Malappuram. And it is spread across 8.73 hectares, was set up under Directorate of Technical Education, Govt of Kerala. Government Polytechnic College (GPC) is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The college provides diploma programs in engineering in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics and Electronics disciplines. The institute provides diploma programs in the above streams both in full time modeand also in part time mode.

Library: The college has a library with rich collection of periodicals, books, journals, non-book materials, CDs and magazines. The library has the following advanced amenities and resources in it as follows: DVDs, one CDs, patents and E-journals etc. in addition to the usual collection of books. This library is especially beneficial to candidates belonging to the underprivileged category who cannot afford to buy text books other books of their interest.
Hostels: The college offers hostel facility for candidates who have their native places far away from the college and cannot commute to the college from their place of residence. All hostels are well-built, clean and offer hygienic food.
Laboratories/Computer Centre: Laboratories in the college are well-maintained with advanced equipment and gadgets to aid candidates to master the skills practically. Laboratories are controlled and monitored by laboratory assistants. Besides the college has a computer centre equipped with Printer, DLP, 25 desktop computers with 10 KVA-UPS and Design software, etc. computer aided drawing/drafting and Computer aided designing is available in Computer Aided Drafting Lab, Electrical Computer Aided Drafting Lab, Mechanical CAD Lab. Besides programming in computer is offering the Programming in C Lab and hardware and networking oriented training is offered in Computer Hardware and Networking Lab.
Sports Facility: The College provides different sports facilities to the students to improve their physical, mental, social, and emotional capabilities. The college has a Badminton team which participates in inter college and intra college Badminton tournaments and win prizes.
Auditorium: The college has a air conditioned auditorium arranged with state of the art technology where frequent cultural activities and candidate & faculty felicitation activities are carried out.
Medical Facility: The college has a medical room given with a full-time doctor along with supply of medicines and first aid equipment. Both candidates and faculties are eligible to avail medical facility in times of need
