The Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) was set up on the year 2010. KUHS has many publications in the stream of Nursing, Physiology, Pharmacology, Dermatology, Toxicology, Transfusion Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine. The university offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in the stream of Modern Medicine, Homoeopathy & Indian Systems of Medicine including Siddha, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Unani, Yoga, and other allied sciences. Admission criteria to the majority of the courses is based on merits in the qualifying examination. MBBS admissions is based on the NEET UG exam score. The qualifying percentile needed for the same is 50 percentile (general).

KUOHS has a computer laboratory for the candidates. The University has excellent laboratories furnished with the most modern lab equipment and lab assistants to help candidates with their experiments. The University has an in-house health center to cater to the medical needs of candidates and faculty members.
It also has available canteen where the candidate can get healthy foods and they can also chill during the free hours. The University also has an auditorium where seminars conferences organize.

The University offers different scholarships in the following categories: Candidates who hail from the SC/ST/OBC quota are eligible to earn a scholarship if they obtain a 75% in their Higher Secondary Examination(HSE) Candidates who hail from the Minority communities are eligible to earn a scholarship if they obtain a 75% in their Higher Secondary Examination(HSE) Candidates who hail from an economically low background are qualify for a scholarship by the University Candidates whose parent serves /has served in the military are qualify for a scholarship The University provides a scholarship under the sports quota The University provides a scholarship to students who are Physically Challenged
