Alagappa College of Technology, Chennai in Tamil Nadu was established in 1944 under then University of Madras. The college was later was integrated in 1978 with Anna University, a unitary type of University established in 1978. The College of Technology is located at Anna University, Sardar Patel Road, Guindy National Park, Guindy in Chennai.
The College was formed by integrating well-known technical institutions in the city of Madras such as College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet Alagappa College of Technology and School of Architecture and Planning.
It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and allied Sciences.
The University has six departments and two autonomous centres. It is affiliated to Anna University. In addition to promoting research, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities.
With a magnificent infrastructure and well qualified and experienced faculty, the College is one of the top Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The admission to the B. Tech programme is made through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). Alagappa college cutoff is prepared based on the Class 12 score of the applicants. The shortlisted applicants will be called for participating in the admission process.
Admission to M.Tech courses is offered on the basis of Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by Anna University and candidates have to participate in the TANCET counselling process conducted by Anna University.
The cutoff is the minimum score, which should be obtained by the applicants to be eligible for admission. Alagappa cut-off depends upon the various factors such as a total number of applicants, total seats available for admission and marks obtained by applicants in Class 12.

The college has all the necessary facilities, equipment with good Infrastructure. The classrooms are very spacious when compared to other colleges. There is a really big ground for sports, including gyms for boys and girls.
The atmosphere of the classroom is fine, and students can also gain knowledge through a well-stocked library. The quality of the food served is good. Wi-Fi is also available to gain knowledge, write notes for exams, very informative and sporting events conducted regularly without fail, along with medical facilities that are very good.
Teachers in the college are well-qualified in their respective courses. The students gain a lot of knowledge from the teachers. The course taught is very much related to work and it makes the students learn about work culture and more about work. With the help of knowledgeable teachers, the students are all settled well in life.
