RMK College of Engineering and Technology in Thiruvallur,Tamil Nadu was established in 2008 by the RMK group of educational institutions involved in rendering educational services from the early nineties. The College is located in Gummidipoondi Taluk, Puduvoyal, Thiruvallur District.
The College aims to be a knowledge hub of providing quality technical education and promoting research for building up of our nation and its contribution for the betterment of humanity. Towards this end, the College is committed to make the best use of state-of-the-art infrastructure and develop industrial collaborations to promote innovation and research capabilities.

R.M.K. College of Engineering and Technologyhas lush green environment, expansive buildings, well-equipped laboratories, spacious class rooms and other facilities.
The College Library and Information Centre provide ample resources with 25279 Volumes of books with 5385 titles and 1734 CDs and subscribes to 60 National journals, 260 International Journals, 37 Magazines and 11 newspapers. Besides, it also has subscription to access IEEE, ASME, IETE and IEI Online Journals and other publications. RMKCET provides the NPTEL (National Program Technology Enhanced Learning) through online and web video courses in engineering and humanities stream. In addition, RMKCET also has institutional membership in the Libraries of Anna University, British Council Library, DELNET (Developing Library Network, New Delhi), NDL (National Digital Library of India), IEI and IETE.
Separate hostels with spacious, adequately ventilated and well maintained rooms are provided for boys and girls. Boys Hostel has 100 rooms to accommodate about 300 students and the Girls hostel has 20 rooms, which can accommodate about 70 students. The hostel rooms are furnished with necessary accessories.
The hostel also has a separate gymnasium and beauty parlour for the girls and a gymnasium, and air-conditioned saloon for the boys. The hostel, in addition, has a general store for provisions required by the students.
Healthy and nutritive food is served in four dining halls which can accommodate large number of students at a time.
A clinic, with a few beds along with on call Doctor facility for 24 Hours is available to take care of the health requirements of the hostel students.
An Indian Overseas Bank ATM in the college premise facilitates emergency withdrawal of money.
There are separate gyms equipped with latest equipments for both girls and boys.

The eligibility for B.E /B. Tech Degree course is that the student must have passed the 12th standard examination of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary (Academic) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or must have passed the Diploma in Engineering /Technology examinations conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu, for admission to direct second year (Lateral Entry) or the student must have passed an equivalent examination accepted by Anna University, Chennai for admission to B.E. / B. Tech. Degree courses.
