Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology in Chennai,Tamil Nadu was established under the Aegis of SABARI FOUNDATION in 2008 by the Rajalakshmi Institutions involved in student empowerment through excellence in higher education.

The Institute aims to set a bench mark for the education providers in the field of Engineering and Technology and to provide quality technical education that fosters the spirit of learning and research.

The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The Institution offers 5 Engineering under graduate courses accredited by NBA.

The members of the faculty are well qualified and experienced and are committed to impart engineering education of quality. A good number of Doctorates are among the faculty members in each department. They assist the students to actively take part in Curricular and Co-curricular activities like research and development, participation in various national and International events organized by other institutes.

Guest Lectures, In Plant Training, Industrial Visits, Internships and Industry Projects, Skill oriented training programs are ogranised by the Institute for the students to augment  their field current/recent technical and practical knowledge.

The Institute has a modern infrastructure with spacious class rooms and well equipped laboratories. The other facilities are briefly mentioned below.

The college central library located in the Institutional building
has a rich collection of 18328 volumes of textbooks and reference books in all branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, Management and General studies. Open access system is followed in the library.

The College runs separate hostels for boys and girls, equipped with all modern amenities. The rooms are spacious and each student is provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and chair. Drinking water facility is provided in each floor through RO process. All the hostels are provided with dining halls, uninterrupted water supply, reading halls, Internet connection, indoor recreation, television, and 24/7 medical facility. Each hostel is supervised by a resident warden.

A well maintained canteen is functioning inside the campus for the convenience of the students.

The College has separate inpatient facility for male and female students for providing quality health care at no cost. The health centre is manned by a medical officer and a healthcare assistant.

 The Institute Campus has 24 hrs facility of  ATM.

The Institute has indoor facilities for Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, and Badminton and out-Door facilities for Volleyball, Foot Ball, Cricket, Kho-Kho and Kaaddi. One qualified Physical Education staff member is available to train the students.

Students are encouraged for participating in the Inter-Collegiate Sports and games and they have won many trophies in various events.

The College runs 28 buses for commutation of the students and staff from various places in the city.

Training activities are organized throughout the year by the Training and placement to enhance the employability of the students.  These include specialized training in mathematical ability, aptitude skills, analytical skills, language skills, technical skills in addition to on line placement mock tests. It regularly conducts technical lectures, career development programmes, guest lectures on personality development, resume writing, group discussions and interview techniques and provide other inputs to make the students highly employable.

The recruitment training is conducted by professionals from in house resources as well as professional trainers from the corporate world. The training sessions are scheduled during the semester breaks in addition to crash courses during the start of campus placement season.

The Training and Placement Cell organises a premier event called residential Employability Training Program for the students. It also conducts special Campus Recruitment Training programs for the aptitude development of students. It organizes seminars to enlighten the students on placement activities, general requirements of the companies in which the students queries are also answered through an interactive session.

The College provides good Wi-Fi connectivity within the campus and offers hostel facilities for students with air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms. The quality of food is reasonable, and they provide snacks in the evening time. The quality of the food served is good, with both Western and Indian food items.

Staff members are helpful, and they have improved the students’ practical knowledge. There are separate labs for different subjects, and labs have air-conditioners with good working systems. The College provides a department library and central library. In the hostel, there are gyms and health care centres.
