Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College (AAMEC), Tiruchirappalli involved in learning and teaching of Technical education was founded in 1995. AAMEC has been conceived as a trend setter in technical education with noble ideas and objectives viz., “Character, Health and Education”.  

The College is located in Kovilvenni at a distance of just 25 kilometers from Thanjavur towards Nagapattinam. The Thanjavur Nagapattinam National Highway (NH 67) runs in front of the college and buses on this road are quite frequent.

The Institution aims to become a  become a centre of excellence by imparting high quality technical, education and produce competent engineers with ethical, environmental and social values through adequate infrastructure and eminent faculty members. It also promotes research and development activities and is engaged in developing industry –Institution interaction and inculcating a spirit of entrepreneurship through sustained efforts.

The College is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University. It conducts 7 B.E./B.Tech programmes and an MCA course.

The College has a sprawling campus of about 65 acres of land with lush green environment, well-equipped infrastructure facilities, expensive buildings. The newly constructed infrastructure includes Civil Laboratories, Auditorium, Gymnasium and an Indoor Stadium. An Entrepreneurship Development cell (EDC) recently inaugurated is functioning effectively.

The fully automated library has an excellent collection of books, Journals and non-book materials in the field of science, engineering, technology, Humanities, Social sciences, Management and General books staked in the ground floor.
It maintains separate collection of reference books bound volumes of back journals, Technical reports and compact disks stacked in the library first floor.

The library is being subscribed to GIST (Global Information Systems Technology Pvt. Ltd.,) Utilizing the E-resources. The library transactions and library entries are carried out by Barcode Technology.

The Computer Center makes available all the required Computing facilities with servers, terminals, latest software, fibre optic network, wi-fi connectivity and 40 Mbps internet.

Separate hostels for Boys & Girls with comfortable and aesthetically designed rooms and round the clock security are provided within the campus. The hostels are equipped with all THE amenities for living, dining and recreation that make each inmate feel at home. Boys Hostel has more than 70 rooms spread over two floors and accommodates around 200 students and Girls Hostel has 57 rooms spread over in one floor and accommodates around 200 students.

The amenities include spacious dining hall with adequate furniture, balanced vegetarian diet, mineral water, steam cooking facilities in kitchen, Recreation Halls for television viewing, Geysers in bathrooms ambulance facilities round the clock to meet the emergency needs.

The College operates 16 buses for the convenient commutation of the students from different pick up points.

Classrooms are very neat with projectors, 6 fans, and 6 lights. The College library contains more books in the College. There are 500 and above faculty members in the College. Most faculty members have completed PhD.

The faculty members are very experienced and some of them have more than 10 years experience. They are well qualified and highly knowledgeable. Teaching is nice and good. The teachers are very helpful for the students.

The canteen is very hygiene and provides only healthy vegetarian food. The College gives equal importances to the sports and medical centers are also available along with post offices nearby.

A bank is also available nearby amidst good surroundings. There are clean restrooms. And a gymnasium is also available to improve the student’s physique and overall health.
