MAHER University, Chennai was established in 2004. The university was formally known as Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research Trust. The trust since its establishment, has grown from a humble beginning to the status of deemed university. The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research University has an impressive complex of best educational institutions reputed for its good quality of teaching best imparted to hundreds of talented and deserving students by eminent and dedicated teaching faculty members.

Today MAHER University is marching towards a golden future with the members of the trust functioning with missionary zeal and dedication, striving to establish more educational institutions and hospitals towards the betterment of mankind. The Government of India in Ministry of Human Resource Development and Department of Secondary and Higher Education, New Delhi on the advice of the University Grants Commission, conferred deemed to be university as per Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.

Merit based Scholarship from MAHER-
Merit based scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the Marks obtained in the senior secondary examination (In class Xll of 10+2 pattern or equivalent) for students from the economically challenged families and physically challenged to pursue higher studies in MAHER.

Scholarship is also available for the outstanding sports person and students with distinction in academics.
