LBS Institute of Technology for Women, was founded in the year 2001. LBS college is the second self-financing College managed by LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Trivandrum.It is affiliated to University of Kerala. The main mission of the college is to make the institution a center of excellence that molds women engineers of good quality in the latest frontiers of Science and Technology to play a vital role in the socio-economic progress of the nation. LBS engineering college is a unique venture of the LBS Center for Science and Technology, under the auspices of Government of Kerala. The college is situated in Thiruvananthapuram city. It is located at Poojappura, away from the Thiruvananthapuram central railway station and KSRTC bus station.The Nearest airport, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology for Women, is the first college in the state of Kerala on the Malabar Coast of southwestern India.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology for Women is the only engineering college for women in the Government sector in the state of Kerala. The Institute provides B.Tech degree programs in Electronics and Communication, Applied Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology and Civil Engineering and M.Tech degree programs in Signal Processing and Computer Science and Engineering.
